Chocobo dyeing R&D Thread - Post your results here!

I fed mine in two sessions, but I'd imagine you could do it all in one shot and get the same result. Here's what I did:

• O'Gho Berry x 5 >> Ul Brown
• Doman Plum x8, O'Gho Berry x6

And I pretty much landed on the exact colour I wanted! Here it is, Sky Blue:

the other way is maybe if we can use the custom font and figure it out like that which could take less so we need number for that rounded kind of like the current chart but closer to the colors they are a bit off number wise the difference is white and black they might be the opposite of the rgb scale. also we need someone to try and confirm them which would be easier but lots of math and the colors need to be as close as possible since the scale is 1 - 3 but that means colors cant be skipped. which is good

yes they were same color its was the first time we did it i reset mine just to be sure it is confirmed they should be done soon with an hour or two.

if im right then to copy kaelahs sylph green you just need it to say the feathers are changing 3 times which can take 3 fruit or more anyone willing to test it will please do just have it say the feather change 3 times with plums only. the numbers are unknown but it most likely 3 since i fed mine 3 before it said anything which if its 3 it stops you from skipping colors. Which im thankful for if this 4 or more i think you can skip colors because of rng.
seems im at daily limit for posts. My chocobo was fed 3 before it read message i did not record how many i got after but in total i feed it 6 apples. its current color is Millioncorn yellow. then i fed it 7 more apples before i got the message which means that the changes are based on the plumage message. but that also means that it can take more then 3 fruit to go up a tier i will post color changes as i add more red i will continue tell i can no longer change its color.to get all the red colors for it* and my friends chocobos colors as well.

4 Doman Plums before receiving the "<name> is beginning to grow new feathers!" message, 5th Doman Plum also got him the message.

I don't know what color Bird #3 would have been if he'd only been fed 4 plums. I also want to add that after my bird was turned Sylph Green, I fed him apples to attempt to return him to Desert Yellow, it took only one apple to do so. I am attempting the same experiment with an FCmate's bird using the Pears and Valefruit.

Well when I first fed mine I gave it 5 plums.
The first said plumage will change in 6 hours, which I think it always says.
The 2nd and 3rd just said devoured.
The 4th and 5th both said new feathers are growing!
Result was Sylph green.

From Sylph green I have fed 2 pineapples.
First said plumage will change in 6 hours.
2nd said new feathers are growing.
Will post results later.

considering there are 86 colors it shouldn't be to hard but there might be other colors not on armor dye list or some they cant change to.

I did the same thing as kaelah last night.
1st 6hr feeding - all plums
1st feed - plumage will change in 6hrs
2nd,3rd & 4th feed - just said devoured
5th feed - new feathers growing
after 6hrs Result was sylph green

started 2nd 6hr feeding was only valfruit
1st feed - plumage will change in 6hrs
2nd & 3rd feed - just said devoured
4th feed - growing new feathers.
wont see result till I get home will edit post then.

Fed berries first but all in one 6 hour set.

Result: Lime Green

Here's my theory:

-each fruit can have negative and positive values in the RGB scale.
-The condition of the stable affects said values.
-The message new plumage message will show when the value is enough to change from one color to another, and will be showing every time if you keep feeding the same fruit.
-If after receiving the message you feed it another kind of fruit it will only appear again when the value is enough to change the result of the first feed, but keeping it's progression.

Negative (-) means going to 0, positive (+) means going to 255.

Xephatol apple: R(+?), G-, B-
Doman PLum: R(-?), G(-?), B+
Mamook Pear: R-, G(+?), B-
Valfruit: R+, G=, B+
O'Ghomoro Berries: R-, G-, B(+?)
Cieldalaes Pineapple: this one is giving me problems but if i have to describe it i would say R+, G+, B(-?)
