Replying to my own goop here .... but OK ... following along with this, I suggest the South Thanalan desert in the sun.I think we also need to consider whether people are taking those color samples from the "examine" window, or standing out in the sun, or in the dark. It's near impossible to determine actual RGB value results when there's not a common lighting arrangement.
One thing is obvious, the examine window looks nothing like the color when the bird is out in the sun, or at night either for that matter. Also, measuring it in the shade of a stables will produce a wholly different picture.
We really need to agree on a common lighting scenario, and preferably one not involving the examine window.
Science is king, yes, but we need controls to determine results.
I'm lost.
I've gone to find myself.
If I should return before I get back,
Please ask me to wait.
Seeing this person's results will tell us a great deal more, I believe. So, after wanting to end my life after my berries not taking any effect, I decided to try out the 6 hour window and see what I could do.
I fed an initial 3 berries and waited 3 hours (I took a nap) and now I fed him 27 more berries and 10 pears to get Orthard Blue (fingers crossed).
If the color is correct after this, that means that you can effectively add more fruit any time in the 6 hours window and still get the intended result, however, I failed to try and alter the ordering of the final fruit to see if it had any effect.
This thread is awesome! Can anybody tell me if I can feed my chocobo as many fruits as I want at once or do I need to space things out a bit?

Okay I think I figured out how exactly this works based on information from this thread and playing around with RGB and testing with my Guild it can be really confusing but once you figured out how it works it's pretty simple.

I am trying to try for ceruleam blue
72 red, 80 green, 95 blue is ceruleam blue
-216 red, 175 green, 80 blue is original color
which equals
-144 red, -95 green, 15 blue
I will be using 24 deepen blue, 8 lighten green, and 3 lighten blue
that should give me -144 red, -96 green, and + 18 blue, if they do have a value of 6 each
so i'll see how it goes
though I currently have seeds in my garden so cannot these until they are picked

Anyone got Rose Pink yet?

Coral Pink: 7 Darken Red and 13 Darken Blue
Royal Blue: 30 Darken Blue, 10 Darken Red
Not sure if I fed it too much blue (or if there's a cap to it)... kind of stuffed it like a thanksgiving turkey.
