You fed the fruit in that order?

Yes. I don't know if this changes the outcome yet, since it barely moved. If you go to the dye menu, you can see that Millioncorn Yellow is just 2 color spots over from where we started. Not sure if all 3 fruits had an effect, or just the last set I used. I'll need more data from other players to get a solid understanding.

Next set I'm trying is: x1 Mamook Pear / x?? Xelphatol Apples to see if he becomes more reddish/orange. My goal is to darken it for the black chocobo. Hopefully this is on the right track, but I'm not sure yet.

I did 1x Mamook Pear and 3x Xelaphol Apples, still pending on results... Perhaps the last fruits used will be what is considered with coloring? That or I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat (get millioncorn yellow) although this complicates things by boatloads.

I'm willing to bet whatever is last is what might count. Not 100% sure on this though, unless someone can show some results and prove otherwise?

I had my chocobo go through a transformation

Fruits used: x5 O'Ghomoro Berries / x5 Mammok Pears / x5 Xelphatol Apples

Desert Yellow --> Millioncorn Yellow

Do you remember the order of which you gave your chocobo the fruits?
My guess is Apples first, then, after 2 or 3 you started to get the message saying that it will grow new feathers.

Edit after the answer below: So, it would mean that only the last fruits are taken into account.

That's understandable, but the biggest issue is that Cork Brown [197, 139, 79]. Given that Desert Yellow is [216, 175, 80], that's a delta value of [-19, -36, -1] from a set of fruits that should have been [-r, =, -b]. Those values are completely skewed from their predicted adjustments.

I fed mine 6 Mamook Pears before getting the message that the plumage would change. Will update when I see the outcome.

Where do we see the time limit? I couldn't see it in the examine screen. When i fed it this morning it said there was 6 hours hours left\

3 O'Ghomoro Berries produced 'UI Brown'

From the first few i've seen floating around who use only one type of feed, the colour thats meant to darken or lighten actually stays the same and the other colours move. The RGB figures have been rounded by up or down.

Desert Yellow (220,180,90) ----> 1 O'Ghomoro Berries -----> Aldgoat Brown (160,135,90) [-60,-40,=]

Desert Yellow (220,180,90) ----> 2 Xelphatol Apples -----> Millicorn Yellow (220,160,50) [=,-20,-40]


This indicates that by darkening blue you are infact removing hue from red and green the one 2 steps away dropping double the one closest.

This was a very shallow test and is in no way fact.

this is a good moment to quote this:

The French / German / Japanese patch notes list COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLORS than the english notes.

Xelphatol Apple: English says Red, te others also say Red.

Doman Pum: English says it lightens red, others say Light Blue

Mamook Pear: English says Green, the others also say Green.

Valfruit: English says it lightens green, the rest says Purple.

O'Ghomoro Berries: Englsih says blue, the others also say Blue.

Cieldalaes Pineapple: English says it lightens blue, the rest say Yellow.
