For those looking for void blue I have a new theory. From midnight blue I am going to try and feed a plum till i get the feather change message. I'm currently working my way back to midnight blue and should be there by this afternoon. I will post the results of my theory when i can confirm it.

Man this is all so confusing lol What does the new feathers are growing message actually mean? That I've reached a new color? So if I see that message it will for sure be a different color in 6 hours?

I'm at Mesa Red(which is actually a brown go figure), and I'm trying to get Wine Red... Any tips guys? Prz n Ty.

I finally got Colibri Pink! (Lavender > Iris > Colibri)

Day and Night Images

I gave him 15 berries and 4 valfruit and got Lavender Blue.
I then gave him 4 plums, 3 Valfruit and 4 Pineapples to get Iris Purple.
Finally giving him 5 apples, 3 fruit and 3 plums got me Colibri Pink!

You fed way too many fruits. Colibri is easily reached through approximately 4 steps with only apples. Should be around 13 to 15 apples.

I was originally going for Iris Purple but it turned out darker than I had expected so I decided to try for Colibri pink instead ^^

Why are peope saying to use feeds that "lighten" to go up in numbers and feeds that "deepen" to go down? I've been doing the opposite and it's worked right on the dot for me.

Started with Desert Yellow.
Fed him 3 berries and got the new feathers message, and stopped.
He turned UI Brown.
Fed him 3 or 4 more berries, got the message and stopped.
He turned Gobbiebag Brown.
Fed him 2 more berries, and once again got the message and stopped.
He turned Shale Brown.
Before I left for work, I fed him 2 Doman Plums to bring down the red and bring up the green and blue. If I'm right, he will be 1 of 3 possible colors: Meadow Green, Corpse Blue or Lavender Blue.

If "deepen" feeds actually brought the main color DOWN, and the 2 secondary colors UP, there's no way I would've got those brown colors according to that chart. I'll post back in 12 hours when I get off work.

Aiming for Soot Black or possibly Ink blue if I land there and feel ready to give up.

Starting from Desert Yellow I fed my chocobo:
8 apples, 8 pears, 17 berries and 1 plum and ended up at Bark Brown.
From Bark Brown:
6 apples, 8 pears, 9 berries and 1 plum which took me to Rolanberry Red.
From Rolanberry Red:
2 apples, 1 pear and 5 berries brought me to Midnight Blue.
From Midnight Blue:
3 pineapples and 1 berry got me Kobold Brown.
From Kobold Brown:
1 plum.

Which has now landed me on Grape Purple. I've fed him 2 pears and 1 berry. Any input if this is the right way to Soot Black?

My progress so far: Desert yellow (12 berries, 6 apples, 6 pears)--> Aldgoat brown (15 berries, 3 apples. 3 pears) --> Royal blue

Current: Royal blue : 34R 42G 96B
Desired: Soot black: 37R 35G 30B

I'm thinking feeding it 2 apples and 2 pears and getting 4 procs in total, reducing blue and not really changing red and green. Any suggesions?

Bad news. I got Gloom purple: 74 62 89.

The apples and pears should have neutralized each other but both red and green increased by a lot. I'm confused now and don't know what to believe anymore. Can anyone help?

can someone give a suggestion to what I should feed to get it closer to soot black from gloom purple?
