To get black you need to feed all 3 fruits at the same time or you're going to be caught in a loop. And possibly use plum/pineapple/valfruit, not berry/apple/pear as everyone assumes. <- our FC's speculation....

if you do that you'll end up in light colors, not dark ones

By now we know that fruits deepen one and lighten 2, what she's doing is the perfect step. Reds and Greens by apples and pears cancel each other out, leaving them alone while both decrease blue by 4, which should add up in a range of -20/-32 blue considering -5/-8 variance for each.

May even try 3 of each but better not risk overshooting.

Starting at Raptor Blue I fed my chocobo 10 berries before I got a growing new feathers message. The result was as expected Othard Blue. Then I gave her 6 apples to get to the next feather message we will see in 6 hours if I hit Storm Blue or not.

I have been working on this chart now for a few days and this is what I have so far. Is not the prettiest thing because it is done in paint and I fail at the cute polished things. I hope this helps people.

Before the server crash I fed my Chocobo Plums and Val until I hit 3 messages with the Plums and 1 with the Val at the end because that's wut someone who reported getting Ice Blue did. I checked this out and found it interesting that you somehow get to either Snow White OR Ice Blue with just 4 Plum messages and not the Valfruit. Servers are finally up again and I checked my Chocobo ... Sylph green, right where it would be on you chart after 3 plum messages but I also used a Val so I guess that Val at the end didn't kick it outta Sylph.

Wanted to feed em one more plum message to see where it would land but someone used the rest of my plums. Gotta grow new ones so that's gonna be a bit:/

Thing is, hubby's chocobo went from Ice Blue to Celest Green with a doman plum, so those two somehow link.

something weird happened to me

my chocobo is cactuar green and I fed him about 50 darkening fruits with 12 new feather messages

after 6 hours nothing happened, I just thought it was a bug or whatever


I gave him another 20 darkening fruits (otw to soot black) with 5x new feather messages and again nothing happened

feeding 70 fruits with plenty "new feathers are growing" messages and having no result is somehow frustrating.. >_>

I thought this was just me.... My chocobo is currently Ash Grey, so yesterday evening before going to bed I fed him 2 of each fruit to reduce RGB and got the "new feathers" (not just plumage will change) message. I logged in this morning before work- more than 6 hours later- and got no CS and he hadn't changed colour. I thought maybe the fruit I fed was not enough after all. So I fed him a further 5 fruit of each type to reduce Red, Green and Blue. Got the "growing new feathers" message so fingers crossed when I get home in 2hrs something has actually happened.
