So, patch gets loaded. Japanese servers come up. NA and EU stay down. Then, few hours later emergency maintenance. Hmm... I wonder what exploit the Japanese servers found that needed to be fixed

Not sure, but whatever it is, 9 hours of maintenance is a little excessive for two new emotes and one beast tribe...

Woke up this morning thinking i could play some FFXIV, found it to be stuck in maintenance.

It was supposed to be from 4 am to 10 am, it's close to 1 pm already.

My bet is that they forgot that B ranks dropped Bloody Logs and that people were mass-farming them all up now 5 seconds in between.

No

B rank never drop book unless its make accidentally dropped by this patch and they immediately close the server and fix it

By the way, I heard rumor they can't find any A or S Rank mobs at all on my server (one of my friends PT report me this) I guess this cause emergency maintenance for another 2 hours

To my understanding, maintenance causes all A and S rank mobs to despawn and their respawn timer starts ticking again only when the server comes back up.

I think you missed some of the patch notes, there's more than that. There's one beast tribe as well as the allied beast tribes. Chocobo colouring, so that means need seeds and new crossbreeds.

Changes to the housing system and frontlines.

On top of that, they have to implement the features they addressed.

Can buy the new seeds with allied seals so no crossbreeding for those, thankfully.

That's not necessarily true. Might still be able to crossbreed them but on top of that, they may crossbreed with other seeds for useless stuff. Not necessarily for snacks but for more glazenuts, feed etc. because people are still finding new crosses that aren't listed on wlel known gardening spreadsheet.

Good call on the logs haha, I saw 5 second respawn rate on B-Ranks and just stroked my chin for awhile. I'm sure that's where the problems happening. Or maybe they didn't aim the /pet emote correctly
