Well, it's been fun. With my fiancee being eliminated now, I'll be suspending my account as soon as we do the eternal bonding ceremony. So no more voting for me. Now I can offer suggestions that I held off on until the end that will make this contest more fair.

    1) Don't put the models in alphabetical order every week. People like Xev and Sienna had more of an obstacle than others, especially earlier on, due to being the last one people saw. By then, a good portion had already decided who they would be voting for and, as one person in an earlier round even admitted, some people never even bothered to go through the entire list. While yes, it's unfair to whoever is last that round regardless, it shouldn't be the same person every round.

    2) Have the judges vote and give their comments before opening voting to the public, but don't post their votes or comments until after the public votes. It will prevent both the judges and the public from influencing one another.

    3) Have the judges vote hold more weight. I feel that some people stayed in it longer than they should have or exited earlier than they should have based purely on their popularity. People like me who don't really know many people are turned away from competing when that happens.

    4) Maybe consider some other method of elimination besides single round. With the current setup, all it takes is one bad picture and not having enough friends and you're voted off, even if you have one of the better overall profiles in the contest. I think that majorly cheapens the talent pool in the later rounds. (Not that I'm saying the current talent pool is bad, I'm not. Please don't take offense models!)

    5) Judges: Simon Cowell is able to do what he does because there is something at stake to be won in the contest. As far as I can tell, there is no prize to be won from this beyond bragging rights. Maybe ease up on the "this shot doesn't excite me" comments and provide constructive criticism instead. You generally do a good job, but sometimes I see what you say and i think, "What an arsehole!" Early on I supported the Cowell-isms, but as this has gone on I've seen the point of those against it. You want future cycles to have good contestants? Don't turn them away before the cycle has even begun.

With that, adieu! Have fun guys. Maybe I'll see you around when I feel like playing Final again.

Thank you for your critiques! Know that both myself and Tyriont take these very serious and discuss them any time they appear in this thread. ^^

    I would like to point out your #1 is not true though, only because I have made these excel sheets, and we can all see that it isn't true. ^^;

As we can see in Round 1, Rhaya, Sakuraya, and Xev were in the Top 4 (of 12). Sienna was in Top 2. Adam (the first letter of the alphabet) and Ferah (third in her group) were in last place. Rhaya and Sakura have continued to be in the top 5 positions each round, and in round 4 and 5 Xev was in the top 3 both times despite being last picture seen in her bracket.

Your other points will be discussed, and I thank you again for sending them!

I didn't have an account with FFXIV for a few months this summer but was still allowed to post on the forum because I never logged out...at least thats why I think I was allowed to keep posting....So I hope that both you and Xev will continue to show your support for ENTM! Xev, we have a judging spot and a mentor spot open to you in Cycle 4!

I think you misunderstand. I'm not saying it gives a huge advantage/disadvantage, but it does exist. The last person can still win, no doubt, but what does it hurt to randomize the names each round in the name of fairness?

    1. I am on your side on this point. No matter what Rongi's spread sheet says it's a matter of perception and I can't count how many comments i got during my cycle that went along the lines of "I almost picked yours". I couldn't help but wonder if they had seen my photo nearer to the front of the pack, would i have made their mental top 3,4,etc and gotten more praise / votes? So, even if it doesn't make a difference in the long run, being the first or 2nd photo seen occasionally would not hurt.

    2. As a judge this cycle, I vote and make comments based solely on my personal thoughts. I have a little notebook and write down first impressions, then go back later and form my thoughts while i study the shots a bit more. I glance at votes and voters comments but they dont influence my opinion. (just commenting on my process so it's out there)

Having the judges submit comments and votes before the public views the shots would cause two issues imo. Gut reactions by having to submit in super short time frames or Ty having to change submission deadlines and/or posting dates.

    3. I think combined, the judges have alot of weight.. a shot can earn up to 15 extra points above and beyond what the public gives. Unfortunately, vote padding happens in each cycle to an extent and I know rongi and Ty do look for counters to that.

    4. This is Ty and Rongi's department but i know they have talked with us judges about options in the future

    5. Personally, my method of commenting/critiqueing is to keep it very positive. In my head i might think it's a weak shot but in those cases i make sure to put in what i do like about the picture, what and why i dont like about it and then a way to fix the issue that i might have with a photo with a bit of encouragement thrown in when needed. I know that no matter the picture, there was alot of effort and thought put into it and I respect that. I, and the other judges, do really try to guide with a gentler hand. In the beginning there was a couple comments that could be considered harsh but they were never malicious.

And just throwing this out there,
Once this is all over i'll gladly go over all my critiques/comments with any model that wants to know which comments were mine.
