It's like any time you put something of your creation in front of the public--some people are going to like it, some people won't, and most people won't be helpful. Appropriate what is constructive and discard what's not. This is entirely subjective. You liked the pictures, that's why you picked them. There's no point in letting others dictate your aesthetic.
