I felt all the pics submitted fit the theme, otherwise i would have asked for retakes (as a few of you were asked.)

I like how so few actually followed the instructions for the shoot, and are simply posing next to a river for the camera. =p Should tell the audience what the instructions were so pictures are judged on that criteria instead of just "rivershots".

It is a little unnerving that the criteria supplied was slightly different though, mine said nothing of telling a story so I assumed it was just a pretty background and pose set up. I guess it doesn't matter because I wasn't asked to retake, so must fit the criteria anyway. But still, I may have done things differently had I had the

I had similar thoughts actually. The normal voters don't see the criteria and depending on what it is, someone can not follow it as strictly and make a much more eye appealing and attention grabbing shot than someone who follows it to a tee. e.g. like someone making a more dynamic shot when it said to do a pose.

But I'm hoping this will be balanced by the judges who do know the criteria and will score accordingly. Just make the judges scores of equal weight to however many people vote and it should be fine.
