And for those programs that adjust the contrasts, colors and lighting intensity in game like with This Shot? They're programs that used the game and change effects LIVE so there is no after editing but you can set it up with lighting effects and focus.

i think the general rule of thumb is, if it's not part of the game, then you can't use it to alter your pictures. Use of in-game items like the sun minion for lighting however, is totally fine.
That is correct. To make things fair for all models, all submitted photos must be taken with no editing what so ever. Editing also means using a program that makes ur game look better, like the shot you posted. Using FRAPS is okay, because SE's built in screen shot taker is rather slow, and FRAPS allows you to grab the perfect shot. If you want to take a picture uncentered, there are ways to do it without having a friend take your picture. You can lock your camera onto something and swing it out. But in order to get a more dynamic shot, it is most definitely allowed to have a friend take a screen shot of you, for you! ^^
I'm sorry, but how would you lock your camera to off-center a shot without using a friend? I love taking screenshots and have HUNDREDS from my RP sessions with friends and tonnes from just being silly
silly. I used FRAPS a long time ago and I would totally use it again to gey just the right shot... I posted a pic today here that I had to pose over and over to get it right, but I'm happy that there's no outside programs allowed (unless themed for the shot)
Which also begs me to ask... Did contestants edit their own underwater pictures in the youtube edition or was that done for them?

The sun minion is a stationary minion that you can use to lock your camera on and swing your camera out. You can also lock onto NPCs as well!
The model's Underwater shots were edited for them.
I still do not understand this process of locking your CAMERA onto another location... I mean I know how to lock where you are looking (target a selectable object or use PrtScn) but this concept of handing one of those selectables a camera... I am not sure how you do this.

On page 161 of this thread I posted a pseudo-tutorial about how to use the sun minion, lock on to targets, and change the angle all while solo (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...25#post2528625, if you're interested), but I can do a quick summary of how to do it now.
(All direction by computers, consoles can chime in how they do it)
1. Select a target by clicking like you would any other.
2. Lock onto the target. For me, the way to that is the number pad 5.
3. From here, this object/NPC/monster will remain the center of your screen while your character can be swung from various angles with the mouse.
4. The pause button helps direct your characters face in a direction you want, not necessarily always facing the camera.
And thats how Maxwell won Cycle 2 of ENTM![]()
Thanks for finding that post Max! Also, Fantasia'd??? :O
I saved that URL and will be posting it on the Audition Thread as well when it goes up. Thanks Maxwell!

I am going to have to work on some super duper awesome screenshots for auditions then! Armed with new tricks, hopefully I won't have to crop my RP shots so much, but I probably still will... Its hard enough to get the RP to continue smoothly without stopping everything for a perfect shot too.
