One piece of advice I have is download and use FRAPS. You get so many more SS per button press with that than in your FXIV SS folder. :3 Other than that, try to think about everything in each shot. Like if choosing between 2, which has better lighting? More interesting weather? Good shot of your face? Better pose? Enemy position? etc. For instance, my shot for the battle one last cycle:


I purely went with this one because of the petals lol, just felt they made it that more interesting. I did have heaps of other shots that looked nice here too, with nice battle animations and such. The petals make it stand out though.

First off wow! That is such a beautiful shot! and secondly thank you very much for the advice I greatly appreciate, unfortunately I can't use FRAPS, since I'm on PS4 and it's the only machine I have to use when it comes to FFXIV:ARR.

*cries* Thank you!!!!! I know it is really quickly made but I wanted to get the cast list up ASAP and also make it look as "official as possible" to really bring in the hype you know? xD

The real video will have a better montage of our two winners and previous models, a better (aka not zoom in only) animation for the models, and no weird airplane and stars around the title xD Could NOT figure out how to get that to disappear. xD

Haha thanks!! For the real one I am planning on having a different background (thinking of making one really long rectangular collage of all the previous models pictures that moves along the back), along with a "polaroid" next to their name, and a body shot. All will be moving in different directions..though MUCH MUCH slower. Those zoom effects and beating effects give me motion sickness. But ive also watched it 25 times. xD

I've got a 2 month production time so I am not too worried about how the episodes and opening are gonna turn out. Not yet any way. xD

Here's something that might be useful for you people using the PS4: Videos.
Your PS4 has the capability of taking 15 minute HD videos. Its automatically recorded, however, you are able to control what is being recorded by double clicking the SHARE button. To end the recording, press it a third time, and it will bring up that Share menu thing. Save the video to your system, then transfer it to a USB.
Then you can take all the lovely screenshots from the video on your PC. This will help greatly when taking Battle shots.

Man, this game puts Maelstrom NPCs in really odd places, with weird invisible walls and random boxes you can sit on, messing up my experiments lol.
