As I've said many times on these forums, RIFT used test servers to great success.

I wouldnt discount them until you give the playerbase a chance to make use of them.

Though the people here... are nowhere as social as the people in RIFT imho.... so perhaps it wouldnt work. The sheer amount of vitriol here is just insane.
