Harassment in Copperbell Mines

Normally I wouldn't put names up here, but this player seriously knows better. **** from Odin queued up his level 15 Gladiator class for Copperbell mines, but distinctly left on his gathering gear. If you click on the link quickly enough you'll see what he's wearing, but what's damning is the fact that he has a lv50 WHM and that all of his gatherer classes are well above the gathering gear he has on. This, coupled with the fact he has 5 DoH classes to 50 (including Armorer) makes me believe that this player is intentionally trying to cause his parties to fail.

Secondly, this player's behavior upon anyone commenting about his gear is immediately apprehensive to the point where he will intentionally "pull" a mob and only use auto-attack. The healer, seeing his rapidly degenerating health immediately tries to save him, only to grab aggro from everything as a result. His first response in my group with him was to berate both dps and heals for "not doing their jobs."

It's my hope that these players will have actions leveraged against them in order to preserve the experience of people who are new to FF XIV: ARR.

Doesn't matter if you normally would or not, posting their names here is naming and shaming and is not allowed. It can lead to you getting punished. So i'd advise you to remove it, and just report them in game.

It was my hope that actions leveraged against him would have permanence, and while I only revealed the player's character name, I still had it removed with your advice.

who cares about whatever he is wearing in a lvl 15 instance? you could do this naked and it would be still easy

How to tackle this situation in any kind of dungeon.
If tank goes awol:
-you keep calm and carry on
( tank as whm, tank as a dps etc)
-vote kick him and hope for a replacement
-as long as you have suitable gear to the dungeon's ilvl, u can slowly 3 man it. 1 mob at a time*
I had tanks pull this bs on me before in post 50 dungeons and all i say is fk u i don't need u. Then i grab the 2 dps and we carry on as i play a tank whm with 6.4-6.7k hp with food*.

You should report them. That person was intentionally harrassing the group by their behavoir. I would hate to think of new players being stuck with someone like that. For some people this game is their first look into an MMO. They don't need it ruined by an a$$hat like that.

You missed the point entirely. It's not that he was wearing terrible gear. It's that he was doing it on purpose with the intent for harassment. And that should be easy enough to prove. Hell, just the disparaging remarks alone ought to be enough for discipline.

Sorry but you cannot know that as on purpose or not. Bad players are everywhere. Some bad then others. others should never play a video game. So unless that guy says "its on purpose" you cannot ever prove that. And so i did not missed the point. In the end we was reported for bad gear and bad play style. And thats is just... Like Yumi_umi said, why not just kick him or something. Or leave. Now a tank at lv 15 gets reported cause it does not know how to play. Give me a break

yes you can know if it was intentional. the way that op did. see what classes they have leveled up. see how the person in question plays. pulling a mob and then only auto-attacking is pretty intentional.

I had that happen to me with a troll of a tank when I was healing except the gear side he would not gain eminity for one reason or another so one cure cast and I had all the other mobs on me. Asked if he could at flash a pull and he told me I just sucked at healing and within seconds a dps had issued a vk and we had him gone was pretty cake tanking as the healer just not as efficient. Most of your really low dungeons hardly require an actual tank.
