    No...increasing DPS, increases the problems, in some fights....like T5, T6 and T7.

It's not an issue of elitism; many people who are "stuck" literally do not know how to play their classes. WHMs who spam Cure II through Infirmity and run out of mana before conflag phase ends, SCHs who never Adloquium or Lustrate and think Eos can do everything for them, DPS who hit under 150 DPS (calculated with an abacus and a stopwatch obviously), tanks who can't hold hate - it's a total mess.
The average player is that bad.
Our FC used to help ppl through T5, and our core group had like 20+ wins, and we still wipe more often than not.
We even solo tank, and throw in extra DD, and still dont get down conflags in time (with echo buff too) and then they blame me for not using food...and most of us were ilv100ish...as if ppl hadn't beaten it before echo, in mostly DL gear...

I really don't think increased DPS is the problem exactly, it's more about control. If you have, as a group, high DPS, then you have a range from 0DPS to however high your party can hit. If you have to wait for the boss to perform a move be it conflag, cursed voice, honey glaze etc. then you simply wait and go back to burning down the boss. I guess you could compare it to harmonics. If you do X amount of DPS and it perfectly lines up with the second checkpoint (checkpoint being the conflags etc.) then 2X amount of DPS should push it at the first. That's just a very loose way of looking at it as the numbers might not exactly be whole numbers or perhaps your team has already gotten to the point where you hit the first checkpoint and it's a phase switch.

To summarise: More about control, not so much about high DPS.

You know what the most interesting paradox about this thread in regards to not only this game but other MMORPG in general is ?

If there wasn't content that 80% of the population couldn't pass, would the 20% of the population who can pass that content even bother playing the game at all ?

    Think about it...

Where are you getting these numbers from? You must have been doing some good research. I can't imagine someone would just come on to the forums, make up some argument, and just throw out wild numbers in hopes it would back up their point, it just wouldn't make sense. So, yeah...mind sharing this research? I would love to read it.
Not sure why you're getting so uptight about this or taking it so literally lol - chill dude... I'm just using the 80%/20% numbers as an example from earlier in the thread where it was surmised that appx. 80% of the server population has still not completed T5. The exact numbers aren't really the point of my question - the gap between people able to complete certain levels of content vs. those who can not is the point. If there wasn't this gap between the "elite" and the "casuals", do MMORPGs even exist ?

Contrary to you belief people do not raid for e-peen and bragging rights against others but because they enjoy it.

That's good for you and I realize there are others like you as well, but you're really telling me that there aren't a lot of people out there who would not play MMORPGs if the e-peen factor wasn't a factor ?
