The fruits actually increase or decrease a certain hue (ie blue etc), therefore colour should depend on how many fruits you will feed. Some colours might need feeding different fruits. I wonder how to make white or grey chocobo.So, if our chocobo's colour changes depending on what we feed it, that means there's only 6 colours we can choose from? ): Unless it's something like the colour will change again by feeding multiple foods, like something that makes it blue and red will then make it purple.

Was this said somewhere else because I see no mention of the fruits increasing or decreasing hues, just that it will change depending what you feed it.
I'm not doubting you, like I said earlier Im sick so a lot is just going straight over my head these last few days x_x I'd just like to know where it was said like that, especially since I wanted a white chocobo
It's from the item list in the patch notes. The 6 seeds split into 3 colors, 1 deepening hue and 1 lightening. On an RGB scale, it seems.Was this said somewhere else because I see no mention of the fruits increasing or decreasing hues, just that it will change depending what you feed it.

For example;
Direct link to new itemsA bitter fruit found growing on the Rhotano Sea's Cieldalaes islands. While typically avoided by the five races, it is a favorite amongst chocobos, and is known to lighten the blue hues of their feathers.

This is going to take some serious time to get the color you're looking for.
For those that aren't too familiar with the RGB scale, in order to get a black choco, you'll need to get all 3 colors to their maximum deepness. For a white choco, you'll need to get all 3 colors to their maximum lightness. This is going to take lots of time (6 Earth hours for each fruit to take effect) and lots of fruit (depending on how many fruit it'll take to reach the maximum of each extreme).
It takes 6 hours for the effect to take place... perhaps you can 'stack' the effect? Since it takes one hour for your chocobo to 'rest' before feeding it again, in theory you could feed it the said fruit earlier than six hours if you rapidly need the chocobo to go a certain scale?For those that aren't too familiar with the RGB scale, in order to get a black choco, you'll need to get all 3 colors to their maximum deepness. This would probably get an undesired shade if going at it blind... but maybe there'll be a 'this x amount' guide at some point.

It should only take a few people going a few different ways to see how far the shading slider is (for example, if each of R/G/B has 6 "positions" or 9 or 3 or somewhere in between). Wouldn't be surprised to see a comprehensive shader guide within 3 days after the first harvest with a dedicated FC.

I personally plan on gathering and growing as many of these seeds as I can for the next couple of weeks. Not to color my Chocobo, but to make mad bank.It should only take a few people going a few different ways to see how far the shading slider is (for example, if each of R/G/B has 6 "positions" or 9 or 3 or somewhere in between). That's my exact worry as well. Hopefully there isn't like more than 5 "stages" of hue per color. Gotta get seeds, seeds could take a variable amount of time to grow (If they take as long as Thavnairian Onions to grow... haha). Then the actual timer to paint your bird's feathers for each "step" of hue. All of this behind gardening, which is still behind an FC wall.This is going to take some serious time to get the color you're looking for.

But leave it to an MMO to make painting a bird's feather's a time sink. huehuehue
