Unless an item is crafted with dye repellant, there is never a storyline reason to make it undyeable.
I don't care if someone gives me the bloody Shroud of Turin. If they expect me to wear it, it's getting dyed black.
Yah this is starting to get out of hand. Some things aren't meant to be dyed... I didn't realize this game was Project Runway Online... How about less vanity...MOAR actual content!
I have to agree with you but would like to add that along with vanity they need to kill the constant ilvl increases and go horizontal we are capped at 50 there is no reason to have all the ilvl increases. They need to make gear last not make it obsolete every few months.
I'm fairly certain that at least one person who received a strange piece of clothing from a "travelling" adventurer would have thought to put dye on said piece of clothing.
It's to make an item more identifiable and "unique" as well lore-reason.
I understand FFXIV is not the kind of mmorpg to have these things though, tanks in bikini and whatnot.
