Actually, I bet SE would still change it. In one of the recent interviews Yoshi even said what was being done was completely not intended and they planned to make changes based on that.I wouldn't blame hunt linkshells for these changes... most of the people on the forums who seemed to be complaining are minority of players who don't want to join hunting groups and would rather solo for their seals. If everyone had been as cooperative as the hunt groups, then I doubt SE would have made these changes. We're only getting this B-rank nerf because people opposed to hunt groups complained enough.
Fortunately, I got all the seals I needed, so I'm not affected by this. I feel bad though for people who thought this "fix" would keep them on even footing with people who've been in hunt groups. Most seals come from A ranks, but I'd say at least a quarter of all my seals have come from B ranks. If I were still hunting as hardcore as I was a couple weeks ago, I'd consider that a pretty substantial nerf.

Hunts were never meant to be giant gear piñatas that everyone fought over. They were supposed to be rewarding, yes, but they were also supposed to be challenging. Mobs of 30 people decimating B ranks in 10 seconds or less was not what Yoshi had envisioned.
My favorite analogy for hunts (pre-patch) is that they were Walmart Black Friday sales for gear. Giant mobs of people fighting and bickering over cheap stuff. Now we are seeing the sense of entitlement come out. Basic human nature, really.
Why change the hunts? How about because the hunt experience has not really played out the way the game's creators intended? How about for the sake of game balance? You think your desire to spend all day long farming B's for 5 seals a pop is a better reason to leave it the way it is?

What is puzzling is that SE just do not get why the HUNT was totally broken in the first place. People do these because the reward is just way too good, beyond good, it is FANTASTIC, and for hardcore players, it is beyond AMAZING to simply zerg these baby jesus to oblivion for the piñata candies to upgrade all their gears to 110.
It's great they change the way B rank works since now, casuals have some way to earn seals without having to rely on HUNT party zerg-a-thon, though only rewarding them with seals is counterproductive since it's not helping them getting closer to their basic level 90 gears. The A and S rank is still a problem - they should simply eliminate tomes reward from these as well. And put daily seals reward to duty roulette. This will encourage ALL players to go do more duty roulette since it will boost their daily allied seals intake. The casuals get more boost to help them catch up to 110, the hardcore will be more than happy to add more seals, and more people will at least do daily roulette and help lessen the "OMG Gotta Do A Train Hunt!!" mentality.

Don't forget you can buy Ilvl 90 items for 20 allied seals. So with the new changes to the daily's you can nearly get 2 pieces a day just through that.
