Eliminate /sh in residential areas

No, you are not in the majority, you are in the minority. People can enjoy residential areas the way they want to, with all the social features of the game intact, including shout. As many others have mentioned there are multiple ways you can deal with this if it bothers you personally, and that is how you should deal with it, instead of advocating for some extreme change to social features.

And I'd be sad if they eliminated /sh from the housing area. How else are the neighbors supposed to know they're invited to our house parties?! (And yes, we've seriously done that before and its fun and wonderful!)

The fact that you refuse to just turn off shout seems to indicate that you do enjoy some of the conversation you see in it, or you wouldn't be making such a big deal about exercising your option to turn off shouts.

If everybody hates shout, what's wrong with making yourself unable to see shout at all? You keep acting like there's never anything worth of reading in /sh. Why wait for SE to force it on everyone, even people who don't want it? Filter it now and you're free forever.

No, i can guarantee you that I am in the majority. Most people hate /sh. This is the problem right? A few loud obnoxious people think everyone loves to see their /sh. News flash: almost nobody does. I guess I should be more tolerant of the socially disadvantaged and attention-starved, so why not make a compromise and have a configuration option that lets you filter /sh when in residential areas, or are you afraid too many people will miss out on your witty repartee?

Except I can guarantee that you aren't in the majority. I frequently hang out outside of my FC house. My FC house is located in Mist Ward 1 of my server, which is probably one of the most populated wards on most servers. Also keep in mind that I share my server with a large Japanese population. I do see /sh being used now and then but 1) it's not frequent enough for me or others to care about or 2) It actually helps us build a sense of community within our small ward.Just yesterday I randomly did a /sh to tease an FC friend that I had been chatting with in FC chat. Not only did nobody tell me to stop talking in sh but they even joined in on the fun. We all had a fun time and I met new people. If they had found my /sh annoying, they could've told me to can it but they didn't. This isn't the first time something like this has happened either. So your one opinion clearly doesn't represent the MAJORITY of people who hang out in the residential districts.

I don't think I've ever seen a /shout on Adamantoise in Mist at all. If I have, it was just folks having fun! It is a game after all!
