This is not to mention the MULTIPLE instances and implications for Rape in the story - not least of which is the Arcanist storyline.Well, off the top of my head: There's the time The Waking Sands gets infiltrated and they kill most of the Scions. Haukke Manor, the guy sends us in hoping we can save his mistress but we end up having to kill her. (Not to mention the whole back story to that dungeon is just plain creepy) The first time we face Ifrit there are a bunch of innocent people who are 'tempered' and we are forced to kill them because there's no known way to reverse the processes. Throughout most of the story people are being kidnapped and murdered to help summon the primals.
Yep, no need for more dark stuff. Let us be heroes, and save the broken hearted girl.
Ok, ok, we all appreciate the Edda storyline for its grim turn, but let's face it, to only make things worse would - at some point - turn her from a tragic case to a Plotline Punching Bag. And while largely my idea was a comical upturn to her story, it does effectively tie 2 storylines into something more lighthearted and enjoyable even despite circumstances. I mean, Edda's a broken, possibly undead girl now. And Hab is a lonely zombie, with Cactaurs for friends. Why not give them both a break. Hell, introduce the Marriage System via the two :P
BUT WAIT!!
Who's to say that Edda herself doesn't have the Echo? We've seen that it does transcend death in a way. Sure, Voidal Edda might be a cool idea (though let me be mean enough to say, she ain't got the body/face for the Succubus look), but it's be hard to take her tragic tale and make it any worse without simply just ruining it altogether.
Edda and Hab are now my OTP.
Frankly, I think Edda already got a happy ending.
Edda reminds me of Tina from Bobs Burgers always wanting a threesome with a zombie lol
I could see her going the Darth Vader way. Evil scary bad guy, but in death (2nd death?) redeems herself/ends up with her boyfriend again (for some reason the scene from Star Wars where Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda are ghosts comes to mind).
I think Edda just deserves more story time. Personally I would like to see her story evolve and call backs to other individuals we have met along the way in the main scenario.
The way they left things off, Edda is totally coming back. I don't think a happy sunshine and lollipops ending is possible for her, but I think pulling her through some tough love and leaving her in despair but willing to work for restitution from what she's done would be a good ending. Not happy, but not utterly depressing either. I can imagine Paiyo Raiyo coming back to you because now he's haunted by Edda and the subsequent quest line leads to Edda's path to redemption.

Does anyone else just feel really sorry for Paiyo Raiyo right now?![]()
