Well this is what happens when people tell SE to focus on vanity rather than having an actual use.
Why even bother adding stats if they claim it's for "vanity". I honestly think that's pretty stupid. The same with i80 from dungeons being called "vanity" despite it actually being an upgrade for some people.

I honestly wish they would increase the prices of the glamour set, to make them even rarer, they were never designed for stats. Still unsure why they didn't just make them full on level 1 no stats though

Well said Meier, Taru and others.
If Yoshi P had been open to having more Relevant / Interesting Stats (Side Grade) on Gear, these new Allied Seal Gear Sets *could* have been USEFUL *and* GLAMOROUS.
Look at the new Maelstrom Allied Seals Gear:
(Courtesy of The Wutai Clan.)
Imagine if that gear was Item Level 110, except it had different Stats than High Allagan or Unweathered Gear. For example, imagine if the Tank Set in the picture was:
(QUICK example (numbers are placeholder))
Item Level 110
* The Same Defense, Magic Defense as HA: 162.
* The Same STR and VIT.
* Block Rate: +10%
* Enhances "Rampart" (turns it to Area-Of-Effect Buff for any Party Members in Range)
* Enmity: +47
etc.
If Yoshi P was willing to look at more interesting Stats / Effects on Gear, this could have EASILY been a relevant, useful "End Game" Gear Set that some people would be willing to save up for, *and* it looks AWESOME.
Instead, it's just Vanity Gear (visuals only) and a waste for a portion of the gaming population.
I seriously hope he changes things up when 3.0 launches. Please.

It doesn't make sense how many times this question is asked lol! It is vanity gear. You can only get that particular gear if you are a member of that specific GC and it can only be purchased via allied seals, so it is "special" in a sense. Old myth gear is just made easier to buy regardless of gear level.
We know it's just vanity gear, is not like you opened our eyes with this comment.It doesn't make sense how many times this question is asked lol! It is vanity gear. The question is why are they just vanity. They would have served their glamour purpose just as well if they had useful stats. I mean here you have a whole lot of sets that designers and modelers spent time on which is useless.
The same exact problem the sets of the new HM dungeons have.
That's a good point. I always enjoyed the GC gear levelling up, and how they had synergies with eachother, granting bonuses. They could have easily recreated that for an alternative higher-level armour and weaponry using Sanction. Not sure why they only focused on vanity gear :/
Although there's still several unattainable GC ranks, so here's hoping a future update offers nice upgrades there.

While they are just vanity, they can be used on alt jobs, or if people want to play with a "challenge" style with minimum item levels for fights they could be used for that as well.We know it's just vanity gear, is not like you opened our eyes with this comment.
