I'm currently stocking up on Mind, Strength and Vitality materias. I think the relic quest for secondary stats were a precursor on Novus, and the next artifact weapon will be a main stat increase. Stock up while it's cheap!

I'm working on my novus right now, and I'd be super disappointed if they did another exact same infuse materia grind for the next relic tier. So far they've all been kind of unique and interesting in their own way, looking forward to yet another tier that is unique.
They should have just made you pay for the scroll with gil from the get go considering how much gil you spend on make the scroll with the materia for your novus if you didn't have a F load of materia stored.
I'm thinking main/magic damage, and main attributes, probably like 5-10 points to distribute.
That would be a foolish illusion of choice, like the job stat point allocation system. Novus did its job of being actually customizable because secondary stats aren't as clear-cut, but melding main stats would only ever result in the exact same weapon across all characters, unless they are deliberately being contrarian. It would be nice to have anything worth using main stat materia on, but this is not the solution.
This is SE we are talking about. The choice of free will is an illusion to min/maxers anyway. As a SCH, Mind is a no brainer, but which if the other main stats would you choose after that? VIT, maybe parry(lol)? That would be a foolish illusion of choice, like the job stat point allocation system. Parry as a main stat? what?
And come on, if anyone has browsed these forums for any amount of time they should know that most speculation is just nonsense.
I have to agree with Triston. Any deviation off the current main stats would just be ridiculous. A tank with DEX instead for the parry? And replace STR to lose aggro? No tanks. How about Replace VIT and die? Again, no thanks. If SE makes it that you have to meld the main stat, it would just be idiotic because there would be little to no deviation from that which would be expected...the current main stats. And if speculation is anything to go by, then what about when NIN comes along? It's been confirmed to use DEX+ traits but it also has melee attacks. Then what? Weapons always, if not almost always, have VIT and one other main stat. This is the only place I could see it being used to give NIN STR and DEX instead of one those and VIT
Good idea.
In fact, I have some MND, VIT and such materia in my retainer from SBing for my Novus. I'll sell them to you all at a d-*suppresses smirk*-decent price!
...Give me all your gils.
Novus doesnt allow main stats to be increased as its done itself after the scroll is complete and becomes an 110 weapon.
(Mind and Vit in a SCH/WHM case par the accuracy which wont change i believe either)
Ive decided for whm to go DET / PIE / SS since the SS stat gets revoked since Novus replaces ALL Secondary stats to fit the ones of your liking.
So it becomes:
Book/Staff Novus: Main stats to par your 110 weapon (Yagrush, Book of Diamonds) and then whichever secondary stats you allocated via scroll.
I'd put money on the next stage being Demimateria, not main stat materia.
