Casting Call Contest questions

I didn't see a thread anywhere to post questions about the Casting Call Contest so I figured just put my questions here. I had a few questions, but atm I can only remember a couple. I don't usually do the contests so maybe the community can answer them.

1. The comment about your character, I'm assuming this means like a story/lore/history (call it what you will) about your character, yes?(I'm probably wrong >.<)
   
2. Say my sub runs out after the event ends, would my character still be eligible for selection? If the answer is "No my character will not be eligible" then that renders the previous question and all others I might remember pointless to answer since I have to let my sub expire in about a month and can't renew it for about the next 4 months.
