Hello,

Below is a suggestion/my Feelings on these specific items touched on by the Devs.

When the game launched or while it was in development, I believe the reason that you would be able to use any gear with any class at any level was to help make it easier for switching classes out in the field, you might not get every advantage for being a DOM in DOW gear but you at least had something, and if you were going from one DOW to another DOW then the gear has even less disadvantage.

In theory this sounds good, if you are out and about leveling your lv 32 MRD with Level appropriate gear and then your LS wants to meet at camp DryBone to do some leves on lv 10 characters you can just pop over, switch to your lv 10 GLD and join in and help. You don’t have to take up extra space in your bag with another set of gear, you don’t have to first stop at the main city, pick up gear from your retainer, and then pop back.

And in general I agree with this method, the problem becomes that once crafters got to a point where they are crafting lv 48 gear and you can get it at a price you can afford at lv 10/15 you just buy it one piece at a time and then don’t have to worry about replacing your gear.

What I propose is a “Hybrid” if you’re just leveling some characters let the normal gear have no restrictions, allow you to have any gear, on any class at any level.

But introduce gear that is made for specific level ranges, that is specific to a class and provides bonuses greater than your “normal” gear for that class. If you want to make your Main class MRD and at lv 20 there is a number of “Quests” or maybe a crafted set of gear for MRDs that will help augment your class abilities and stats far more than your standard gear and then remains relevant for the next 10 to 15 levels you can collect it but if you switch classes you need to have the other gear.

This works even better at lv 50, if you have a main lv 50 you should be able to collect gear that is specific to you and can’t be used by other classes/ level ranges. It gives you a boost to your stats and abilities.

By restricting the armor you can give it greater bonuses without worrying about balancing out other classes/level ranges.

You still have the normal set of armor you keep for leveling other classes that you can switch your class on as many times as you want so your armor sets still remain maintainable and it gives players something to work for, if you set one of these sets up for every class for every 10 levels it gives someone goals they can shoot for, “I want to get to lv 20 today, I’m lv 19 and if I can just get bit more SP I can spend some time on these side quests to gather my Class gear.”

You give something for people to do other then level and at multiple stages of the game, and if you make the quests fun and unique then it’s not a grind and it makes doing the “Side Quests” actually worthwhile.
