    What information do we have on this guy?
    I didn't play 1.0 so I'm a tad lost at his significance.

    Any info is appreciated!

    O-App Pesi was the original Guildmaster of the CNJ's Guild during the 1.0 Gridanian storyline, which as it turns out, was mostly set ten years before the then 'present day' (events of which the player was just viewing through the Echo without even realizing it).

    At the time E-Sumi Yan was in meditation out in the Black Shroud and thus O-App was administering the Guild, until E-Sumi returned at the start of the game. So thus a good deal of Gridania's 1.0 storyline involved him.

    Hence why by the time of ARR E-Sumi Yan has taken his place as Guildmaster and O-App is now the one in communion with the elementals out in the forest.

    In particular, he famously had a quote that was a Star Wars Episode IV reference:
