I think every class should evolve into one DPS and one "other role". This could really improve the number of tanks and healers in the long run. One want to play a DPS on endgame ? Fine, pick any class. BUT since a tank/healer is just a job crystal away, and it'd help one queue really fast, maybe they'll cross the line and play them a little too. And maybe they'll like it

We can play around the "too tank focused abilities" to design a melee DPS. But a Red Mage would require a lot of changes to be decent at low-level since GLA doesn't have any damaging/healing spell.

Jobs don't branch from other jobs (For now, at least). You'd have to make a connnection between MRD and DRK.
