How to make Jenova Great i.e. What makes a good server?

Do you mean in regards to early pulls or lack of raising? Just out of curiosity.

So thank you for your ideas. Every single one is a great consideration which we should be aware of moving forward.

Now I would like everyone to think about what things they would like to avoid the server becoming. (I.e. asshat zergfest for example) just so we (more like I though...><) know what not to do when we reach end game. If we can avoid these, maybe people will hear about how nice our servers are and migrate.

I'm aware so far of the importance of skipping cut scenes. I read the entire thread where a poster named Zeenda ended up complaining about his/her experience on an end game dungeon and I don't want this thread to descend into one like that.

just try not to burn yourself out with the grind.. as that will just make you jaded. i see so many people just rush through the game to get ilvl1million and become an elitist jerk in the process. luckily the server doesn't have too many of those types of players yet. the ones who have become like this, have either quit the game or transferred to an older server.

I have to say that you guys are awsome. I am a final fantasy fan not an MMORPG veterain, so i played ARR as a final fantasy game. What ppl miss are the charecter developments with other NPC's and the role playing (just something i enjoy doing on all ff games) that comes with this. I started over on ps4 bc ppl just want to get to the the end game content and me being one of those ppl that has to read everything and admire scenery, ruined my first couple of months experience and not to mention, them flying thru duengeons trying to hurry everyone up, where im just looking at the beauty of what the game is offering. The server Jenova is slow and steady, and i love it. no one hassels me to hurry up, everyone is nice (keep in mind i am no where near end game) and overall i am having fun. Jenova is a right fit for any true Final Fantasy fan that treats it as just another edition to the franchise and not an MMO. Thanks for the good reads, hope to see Jenova on charts in the future.

i moved my alt over to zalera, and im liking what im seeing over there, got into a new fc, and i shouted in mordhona for help with the lightning fates, which i got 2 very well geared lv 50s to help me out, i think i would have gotten more on jenova, but it seems like the people on jenova are generally better when it comes to attitudes.

i also came into this game with absolutely no mmo experience. i hadbasic concepts from the role setups in 13, but had no actual knowledge of how mmos worked. i started off as a gladiator and got to lv 16, never went into adungeon, and realized that i was a tank through the class quest dialogue. i promptly restarted as an arcansit, and i didnt like the cat person i made, so i made another a lancer. nobody told me you can switch classes in this game. and this was with ps3. came back a few months later for the early release for ps4. thanks to all the help i recieved from people in the last 2 FCs i was in, and randoms that i was partied with in DF, i have succesfultty cleared all but ramuh EX and have made it to T5. i can have a good discussion about the 3 roles i mostly play PLD, WHM, BLM.

Greetings from Brynhildr, another sleepy server predominantly composed of PS4 players.

Jenova's small, and it'll always be that way. The trick is that this is as much a blessing as it is a curse.
A smaller, more tight-knit community allows you to control things like Hunts, creating server-spanning linkshells that ensure folks wait to pull or get kicked from groups. On bigger servers like Excal or Sarg, folks discover an A or S rank, pull it instantly and then kite in circles while they shout about it and inform others. They get full credit for tagging it, and only the first few dozen people who show up are lucky enough to get allied seals.

In the same vein, you won't have to lose long-term friends to your competitor raiding FCs, because there's likely to only be a handful of groups tackling content. Getting T9 down is going to be a mark of success that people will know you for across the server, not just YET ANOTHER player with a high allagan weapon.

To succeed, build your community. Make Jenova a place where people help each other succeed instead of stepping on the backs of their fallen friends to climb higher.

Use the party finder. This server is full of people either content with just mind numbing hunting, or just flat out can't get acess to the harder parts of the game (scob). Challenge yourself don't be so timid, nothing is too hard in this game with a little cordination. Also it is alot more gratifying to down something that is semi challenging, then to sit around waiting for the next zerg fest aka hunt. Go wipe, get back up,learn, rinse and repeat till its dead. Also know one should be an elitest tbh even if ur ilvl300 proves nothing to your skill set. Just tells me you play alot and hunt. I would rather play with a I85 player then a I107 who can't comprehend how too execute properly. My 2 cents.

Jenova just doesn't have anything. I was looking to join a new server a few weeks ago because how bad the server is. The interactions between players is abysmal at best, unless hunting. There is not even any PF, hardly anyone is crafting/gathering for the community, it all goes straight to the MB. The server also feels like it's controlled by the major FCs, who all happened to use other game titles as their FC name just to get people to join, you can log in and see tons of Zelda FCs or Metal Gear FCs, but anything original usual doesn't pick up and fails.

We just need player interactions, you can go stand in Mor Dhona and hardly anyone will talk about things and only one or two people shouting PF, which is usually for primal ex kill experience required. That hurts our server if we can't even teach one another how to beat something. If anything could fix it I'd like to know.

I wish I could move to Jenova My FC wants to get off of Excalibur so bad this is the worst server persiod people threaten you when you log in and try to do anything they can to piss off and spit on everyone nobody helps you wait 4 hours in PF to get a group and they rage quit if you wipe once. I can't wait till Jenova opens up all us ilvl 100+ people will help the server flourish.

I left this server a few days ago. Now I have already cleared my Turns 6-8 and about to finish 9.

If you are looking to join this Server please note, its a ghost town. Compared to the other servers, this server was an emergency server for the PS4 release.

So everything is out of whack. Nice people, but the people who cleared the turns "except" T9, think they are elitists, even though I out DPS the hell out of them.
