How to make Jenova Great i.e. What makes a good server?

Hello everyone. How are you?

I am new to FFXIV being that I only started 25 days ago and am curious on what people think. How can we make Jenova the best server on Aether and then in Eorzea?

The question that really needs to be answered is what makes a good server?

I think there are many factors that come into play. One being the kindness of players on the server. If nobody is nice, why wouldn't they just world transfer?

Another big thing is number of powerful players and also number of new players. Just as having an aging population or too many babies is not good for the entire population [in the short run] in real life, if there are too many senior(aka Bahamut or Higher) players, then people starting on the server will wait forever for someone to enter Tam-Tam and the same goes for if there are too many new players (then other players wait too long for Syrcus Tower or Coil).

[I might be wrong about this because maybe dungeons take people from the entire data center and not just the server...I'm not too sure yet...]

I was just reading a lot of posts from this group(Akuma_Oni seems to have some strong opinions on this, please tell us what you think here again please^^) and was wondering what everyone else thinks.

Maybe I should be thinking more long-term so that is why I am asking for your help. I was hoping we could use this thread to bounce ideas off on each other and make this server even more awesome than it already is!

I left Jenova for Gilgamesh, I'm coming back in the expansion release to bring some RP.

they pull from the datacenter for instances, not just the world. progression is also a good thing, activity, too many times have i seen PF for experienced players only, and nothing for practice, making a lot of the endgame quite hostile to new players, because the new isnt tolerated

I left Jenova for Phoenix Eu.

Jenova - Not enough activity. Not enough people running all aspects of end-game, (or where there are, they are closed groups or "must have kill exp" etc, how is someone supposed to progress that way?). Market prices were SERIOUSLY insane. 699k for 1 control IV when i left.. no thanks. Smaller number of master crafters controlling high end prices, MASSIVE amounts of undercuts (yes, it goes on everywhere but so so bad there.) Basically, wasn't the server for me.

One thing about Jenova is that it is the lowest populated server to date. I agree it is hard to understand how people expect to get groups of experienced players for PF when they won't help newer people learn fights. This and the fact that it falls into the group of servers that were added during the PS4 launch means that the number of people able to craft or easily access higher tier gear is limited making the prices skyrocket. Once the world gets a little more progressed prices should settle down some and groups, hopefully, should be easier to come by.

The server is new. I am constantly helping people do raids. But I want people under our banner so we can be closely knit. All I want in return is gear and help for a mansion since I don't craft :s. Been already 1 month trying to help Server

It's a bit silly for some of you to compare a new (about 4 months old) server to an older one. Do you really expect the economy to be stable right away? Since the server launched with the PS4, a lot here are console players who are new to MMO's. Speaking for myself, but I'm sure there are plenty others who play similarly.. we grew up playing FF for the story, so we tend to take our time and not just rush rush rush into end game. Give it some time. I've already noticed the PF being more active lately with EX primals and Coil parties. And I get that some people just want to do constant end game farming, and this may not be the best server for you, but the server won't flourish, if everyone is so quick to not give it a chance. One thing I do notice tho (just from my experience and originally coming from Leviathan), that the people here are generally pretty nice and there are less elitists. It's possible that will change as the server matures, but for now, I enjoy the atmosphere here more.
