It's a two way street. Players can take the initiative and reduce the grief themselves, but it doesn't make the process any less annoying and it doesn't get the point across to the offender that what they are doing is wrong. Likewise, not reporting players who keep bothering you gives the offender the message that it is ok for them to keep harassing you because you aren't do anything about it to stop them.


People paid a subscription to play this game, ergo, they have the right to be able to play the game without other people souring the experience for them. If the GMs didn't do anything, then players would cancel their subscriptions and it will look bad on Square if word got out that they couldn't be bothered to deal with harassment or told their players that it's all on them to deal with it.


Just because you can take steps to reduce griefing doesn't mean that it should be your only solution. GMs are there to make sure that there's no grievances between players. That is their job.
