Need help with a buying decision

I'm thinking about picking up the pc version collector's edition on Amazon, but i'm hesitant to pull the trigger. The reason is because I want to know if it is likely that future expansion packs will also come in CE as well. I don't want to spend a good amount of money on the CE of the main game just for the expansion to just come out in regular boxed versions.

For any 11 players, did the expansion come out in CE? I looked around online, but all I could find is the actual collections (main game with expansions bundled). Didn't see anything about the individual expansions as CEs. Can anybody tell me if they did this for 11's expansion? If they did it for 11 it is likely they will do it for 14's expansions.

Love the game and want a hard copy of the game on my shelf. If its likely the expansions will have CE editions i will get the physical CE. If they are unlikely to (based on what FF 11 has done) then i'll get a hard copy of the standard version.

Just get a hard copy of the standard edition and get the digital collector's edition upgrade. I doubt the expansions will have physical editions, let alone collector's editions, but who knows. I don't think 11 had collector's editions of their expansions.

I don't recall any CE expansions but I remember there being perks for buying the all-in-one packs they would release, or for buying all the mini expansions and abyssea packs. Are you asking because you don't want the physical boxes to not match up?

I don't believe any of the actual expansions for FFXI had Collector's Editions. They later released collections which had the base game and all expansions and none of these were CEs either.

I bought the CE for ARR and love the box and the art book it comes with. I don't regret paying the extra for it. But I think it is unlikely that an expansion will have a CE. I guess we will know more at Fan Fest but that isn't til October.

Yea I wanted all CE or all regulars. I already have the digital CE and I wanted to make sure if they were going to be having CE of the expansions I wanted all the boxes to match. However seems like none of 11s expansion had CE. One poster said they wouldn't have physical versions at all. I really doubt that part. They probably wont have CE but they will be on store shelves.
