Worth leveling a monk with the rogue class about to be released?

1st question, is it work leveling a pugilist/monk when the rogue class is about to be released.

2nd question, which current class is more viable in pvp, monk/dragoon? Or would the rogue class in theory be more pvp oriented?

Thanks for your input in advance!

I'd say Mnk with Fists of Wind to chase people down and not being restricted to directional combos

MNK and Rouge seem to have totally different style of game play.
    MNK rely on Positional atk.
Rouge doesn't not rely too much for positional (according to Live letter.)

I don't play MNK/DRG in PVP so no idea.

I would recommend leveling at least monk if you plan to take ninja seriously. Im positive that ninjas will be able to cross class skills from the other melee DPS jobs.

    Thanks for the info

Thank you for the information! In general, what class would you say is more sought after/viable for pvp?

I don't PvP much, but I hear Scholars and White Mages are a nightmare in Frontlines if played properly

Also there really is no "PvP oriented job." Each class has their ups and downs in PvE and PvP and balancing is done separately for each. I'd just say pick a job and stick with it (If you happen to pick Warrior then go Marauder, I heard MRD is way better then WAR is for PvP)

Unless you're leveling Monk casually, you'll hit 50 long before Rogue comes out.

By casually, less than 1 level a day.

For pvp the class that has IMO the lowest skill ceiling are tanks and bards. Don't play a healer unless your willing to figure out what your doing because there are a lot of garbage healers and it's a difficult class to play in pvp. I would say blm/smn also have a hard time moreso in wolves den then FL just because they tend to get targeted right after the healer does.

ninja seems to have a completely different play-style from monks (they've been described as using hand-sign sequences instead of mostly positional attacks to do damage) so if you enjoy the monk play-style, i would level it

in frontlines i would say it probably doesn't matter much, but in wolves den (from my limited experience), dragoons are more burst oriented, while monks have an easier time staying on their target, so i'd say it really depends on what composition you're using for wolves den

At least get the crossclass abilities done; it's likely rogue will have pugilist/archer since those would be the only 2 that would make sense.
