    Repairs only use dark matter?

Okay I am so confused. I logged on this afternoon because I want to get my inventory in check so I can craft this evening with my husband and noticed that the repairs mats are only saying Dark Matter and a grade...so does that mean conventional items are no longer used for repair mats? If they are, how do we know what conventional repair mat to use? So confused :/

It's all Dark Matter now. NPC your repair mats, and buy Dark Matter from a vendor. You can buy it from Tataroga (7,4) in Ul'dah, or NPC vendors at the rank 1 camps. Alternatively, you can spend your grand company seals on them, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Okay thanks guys. That really sucks though, especially from someone who really does enjoy crafting. I know I read about the changes on the lodestone, but was there really a good explanation for the change? I'd really like to know their reasoning behind it.

Honestly, it's the most annoying change to me. I don't see why they couldn't have implemented Dark Matter on top of the existing system.

They say it's for simplicity, to reduce item glut, but I suspect it's also to drain gil out of the economy. (Dark Matter is a bit more expensive than fents/spetches.) But honestly, it was fine before, and made more sense than it does now.

Off-topic, do you have a LS Indoril? Do you need one?

Quantum, I would like to...are you online, there are some things I would need to discuss in a area that isn't a public forum.

On topic, yeah I thought the fents and spetches were fine. I never really sold a lot of them, but I would use them for mine and my husbands own personal crafting and repairs...not being able to do my own repairs kind of takes the fun out of crafting. I know that I could still do my own with the Dark Matter, but I really REALLY enjoyed kind of "living off the land" so to speak. I don't sell much or many of my raw materials unless I just can't use them for levleing up on, and in that case, I usually just put them on sale to get rid of them for anyone who is just starting to craft. :/....just kinda makes me want to go Q_Q in my pillow about crafting T_T

Just my 2 cents... I actually enjoy Dark Matter now because I don't have to hold 20 different items to repair my or anyone else's crap. I even get motivated to run around town and repair whatever I can since I had the weird urge to take all crafts to around 25-35. My only issue is with the players not getting with the program and charging appropriately for specific grades. 1k for a Grade 5 is not really encouraging me to fix anything ^^

I understand...I just wish they would have added the dark matter on top of using regular mats. Oh well. Time to get with the new crafting program I guess.
