The whole mentality of they are server events is a creation of the players treating them like fates.

Hunts are not designed for 50-400 ppl to kill 1 mob. It is why hunts are not working too many people are trying to kill a single mob.
I believe this to be the case, however I also think that SE is at design fault for making them function like fates anyway. IMO, the whole thing should have had hunts phased to you and or your party but claimable to your party/alliance with outside ppl being able to help for reduced rewards. Think levequests, you pick up a few elite hunt targets, and set out to go spawn them by condition or find them. There wouldn't be the mass phase hopping there is now nor the need for competition but would still suit the same core purpose possibly even better than the current version.
