    Not sure how I feel about the materia system. I think it allows for (semi) customization of gear (I say semi, bc certain stats will be important for certain jobs so everyone will use those) which is good, but I think it is a less desirable solution then having lots of different gear (similar to the FFXI system). Plus, gear swapping is less functional/stressed in this game, so not sure how tailoring your gear will work out. Sounds like it will just raise the floor for everybody (i.e., it will just make players stronger overall but not really allow for distinct pieces since you will generally be wearing one piece most of the time). Although you could argue that one could create sets of gear with different material depending on the specific role they needed (either via job or class). So if I was say low manning an event on CON, I might not use magic accuracy set because I will want to be able to take more hits so I might use my HP build set so I survive longer. Will see how long it takes to make materia and how strong the materia is...

    It's been stated materia wont be just for stats alone traits also I.E stuff like DBL atk
