Need some kind of filter to stop junk from going into inventory

So, I've been running maps on a regular basis with some people for the past week or two now, and I'm actually a bit discouraged by it now because it fills up my inventory with so much crap. This happens on dungeon runs as well. Since I craft all the time, my inventory's a bit cluttered with base mats, but I always keep them there because I never know when I have a minute or two to craft. It would just be nice to have some kind of option to control the junk that gets collected, because honestly, I don't need bat and ahriman wings, wolf claws and fangs and jellyfish body parts at all.

i actually had an idea related to this: In dungeons, a LOT of crafting mats drop. Toto-rak has diremite things dropping like rain (useful for making velveteen), Brayflox HM has a lot of raptorskin, etc.
My idea is the ability to opt out of future drops you've already acquired using a list. That way, if something drops you don't want cluttering your inventory, someone else in the party who wants it will receive instead.
This ALSO allows for another fun little thing: item checklists for the completionists!

Tell me about it, even leveling culinary alone is an inventory killer with it's love of needing a full tree of mats for most stuff. it's become a regular thing to have to clear out inventory after most runs.

I guess for someone with every craft it wouldn't matter much to them.

its simple, after a run or 2, go to a vender and sell those mats for the 2 or 3 gil that their worth, and run again.

Yes, but I don't need them. I don't use my alchemist much.

Which is immediately offset by the teleportation costs. They're so worthless, they're not even worth the time to go back to the city and sell them. I'd rather just not have them. Can you imagine if this is how it works in real life? Every time you walk by a cigarette butt, you pick it up. You pick up rocks when you hike. You pick up broken bottles in parking lots. We leave things we don't want in real life, so it would be nice to have an option not to pick up junk automatically in this game.

I wish we could get something like that. I really don't want animal hide in my inventory.

if you dont want to sell it, sort the inventory before you go in, and discard all of it after you leave. im usually already near a place where i can sell it, and most places have a settlement of some sort that you can sell things at, and if youre too lazy for a minute walk/ride, thats your problem, you dont have to always teleport.

Are you one of those types of people who feels that nothing should be fixed, no solutions should be given to make things easier? Why are you against this idea? Why do have to store my mats in my retainer each and every time I go out, then sell all the useless crap to clear up space so I can pull out my mats again, craft a bit, then store all my mats back in my retainer and do it all over again? It would be far better for me to just not have that crap go into my inventory to begin with.
