Poll for the character "Change Name" service (Let's make this clear)

i Voted for yes because ppl always geting confused with the Family Name of my husbands character
and mine and think we are bots or dual clienting it's rather annoying to be yelled at because of that


and too many ppl are using our Family Name on our Server......

I voted no. It would be way too easy for someone with a bad rep to wash their slate clean.

Name changing service already exist. If it becomes official, then instead of paying 60 bucks and wait 3 days, it'll probably be 10 bucks and take place immediately.

Make it a limited thing like the fantasia's. Get maybe 5 total, and there's a time limit between purchasing the next one.

As others have pointed out, you can already change your name. If someone is that desperate, they could easily steal the gil if it's left open for everyone, hop server for $18, change their name, see if they like that server, if not.. keep the name they changed to, use fantasia and go back to first server, and no one knows who they are. I've seen it done once already, but other than having the same jobs there's no real proof that it's the same guy, in game (nevermind that GMs wont get involved in that type of stuff). On VOIP it's definitely the same guy. Happened to a friend's FC.

I want to change my name cause I'm no longer a miqo'te and never plan to go back. But in case I do, I want to change to a race-neutral kinda name. But, I am not willing to pay full $38. If it was just $18 that would be fine.

The only way I would ever consider this is if the devs also implement a way to blacklist an entire account. If not, this creates way too many exploits.

And even if they did implement that, I don't see the appeal.

I had a beautiful Roe female who I named accordingly. I decided I wanted eye-candy and switched to an elegant male Elezen but he's stuck with a name created with a female character in mind.

For example Mr. Duuude, imagine you became a cute female Miqote for whatever reason. The character is gonna look kinda funny running around with Duuude Bismark above her head. That's the appeal.

I voted yes. I played this game for a while, but then gave it up due to school and work. Now that I'm playing again, I've changed my character's appearance, and I would love a name change to go with it. I kind of grimace and think to myself "What was I thinking?" every time I see my name. This is a service I would pay money for. I understand a lot of the concern about character rep, but I think name change logs would fix that issue.

That's actually a great idea. It would be like Steam. Without to mention that it would stop all of those arguments by the players who said nope to this with the reason of the "Reputation".

The report feature works very well in this game for player behavior. GMs respond to me in the same day within a few hours and as long as I can get timestamps and specific details of what was said, they pursue it. If you don't like someone because of their attitude, report them. Holding onto the idea that a name change will allow them to continue being a jerk with no actions taken against them is reactive thinking that passes the problems onto the next person who deals with said person. Just be forward thinking, take the 3 minutes to typing something out, and let the GMs sort it out. Its why they are here in the first place.
