    Actually you can reset your chocobo's skill points that you've already spent - it was added in the 2.3 patch. The item required is a reagen pepper, and costs 48000 Grand Company seals from your GC's Quartermaster, so it's not cheap (you also need to be at maximum rank in your GC which is currently 2nd Lieutenant). But you can definitely reset your chocobo's SP, allowing you to get a desired barding if you haven't already and were like me and 'min-maxed' your chocobo (in other words, spread SP evenly across all roles instead of just concentrating on just one particular role).

    note: It only gets you your desired barding in that case, where your previous point arrangement didn't get you one. Players who initially specialized in one role and got that barding can't just re-spec to another role and get another barding as well. (I believe it's possible to get multiple role-related bardings if you use the FC stable to raise your chocobo's level higher than 10, but I'm not sure of the details of that.)
