Food effects in the UI

Now that we're post-1.1.8...

Can we get some form of UI update that tells us what in the world we have eaten?

Can we get some form of clue as to what each food does?
In the item description? In the log? In the status page?
Perhaps a "XX feels more in control...".
How many players does SE expect to look up info while playing the game?
How many PS3 players does SE expect to be able to look up info while playing the game?

I know someone has posted that Divine gives 7.4% stat boost but without being able to confirm that claim, let's say I'll accept it for now with a grain of salt.

For that matter, how many % of the player base knows how food actually works to get the Divine...etc effects?
Or how many % of the player base actually eat food in the game? Some UI reassurance that food is working will help that...

Just realized you can count this using the HP/MP foods, and making the assumption the effect is the same for stats a swell.

As a ps3 user its easier to look up items of food. My ps3 is attached to my tv, and my computer is right here by my couch. Honestly the better questions is "how many non-xi players do they expect to look up food stats while playing?", because I'm quite used to by now, and I never saw a problem with it, I may be brainwashed who cares. I just don't understand why we'd know ahead of time what the food does to us lol. My thing is make the food types more representable, in xi it was easy to go, oh cookies or OH mushrooms, mage food yay! In some aspects there are food types in xiv but if they were more recognizable you'd go look up one type of food, and realize every food type that is higher rank should give you an increasing effect.

Orange Juice is mag craft right? damn so hard to even tell if that has an effect after a while.

Here is where it goes counter-intuitive. It appears that increasing levels of food doesn't give you increasing benefits. The bonuses remain the same, just that the requirements for the bonuses (stat and affinity) changes.

Coming from FFXI myself, it is 2nd nature to check online databases while playing. But FFXI does show food effects in the status update...

Pretty sure they have said that food stats would be displayed on the item itself next update. And a dev response recently said stat changes from buffs will be reflected on the stat screen starting at that point, too, and food is a buff so I'd imagine that would be included.

I personally think it was nice that the food had different bonuses based on your stats since it meant that more food would be more releveant (in contrast to FF11 as I'm sure you know has hundreds of food items but the number that were actually made/used was sooo very few). With physical level going away I'm guessing that our stats will be geared so that we will automatically be in range of optimal rank food of our level (ie: high ranked mages will have their stats already tailored to get optimal boosts from the highest ranked sweets)

Oh yeah I think my Orange Juice helped with crafting..but I don't know for sure though, unless we have an actual list of what food does o_o

To me this just seems absurd that the game could be designed without this from day one. I mean.. really? it's just one of those things that make you wonder "what were they thinking".
