AFK'ers in PvP (possibly botting?)

Hi,

For the last 2-3 weeks, certain individuals have been queuing into PvP and immediately "AFKs" right on the spot. I understand that sometimes people may disconnect in certain circumstances, but it has been happening persistently and they're still here...doing the same thing and hindering the entire team. If you're in Maelstrom, then you know WHO these individuals are and they do it together ALL the time. Since reporting these offenders don't work (obviously), what else is there to do...?

P.S. You can't vote-kick them because you're always in combat for PvP regardless of anything.

You can vote kick them with some coordination I arranged this the other day when I found someone in the alliance wall running with their original stoneskin timer in the base over halfway through the match. The people in their party couldn't kick vote and thought it wasn't possible, I just advised them to hold a few seconds after party wipe till no one was in combat and that worked. Plus getting people to try an approach where they didn't run back out to die one by one was useful as a side benefit.

There is a guy famous on my server for not doing anything every match- though he does talk.. so that's fabulous.

He takes up 80% of my GM reports.. lol. Whoever is doing the investigation I hope bans him from frontlines or duty finder at minimum XD. I've had him AFK in 10 of my matches so far.


I suppose vote kick will be helpful, but just starting the match with this guy in your party is like "awww man! we're one person down, everyone report this guy- I guarantee he will have 0 kills, 0 deaths, 0 damage, 0 heals, and 0 captures at the end of this."

Really hurts to be one down, but it is funny to win a match with uneven teams XD.

To be fair, they're not actually AFking. They're just being lazy and taking advantage of people doing their work.

If they were truly AFK they would have been kicked out by the instance. I would know because my queues for Frontlines are over 20 min. I had ordered pizza and the delivery had happened just as I had finished securing markets. Came back from the door with the food and the instance had kicked me out. My fault for ordering pizza and wanting to do frontlines at the same time. And immortal flames was winning for once..

I have the same reaction. These individuals AFK together most of the time, so we're usually 2-man down. :/

I reported an AFKer I was stuck with for 3 matches in a row and I gave exact details, timestamps, and my time zone and I never saw him again.

You just gotta be accurate with your reports and don't harass the AFKer.

I do worry about abuse of this in PvP though. I've seen a few matches get really ugly in comments and accusations.
