Great Idea Lillia, something like this would be very nice to see.
Liked your post & hopefully SE will notice AND respond.

Nice concept, but is really needed? If you want help level fast your friends the place are duties, and there is already the sync.
And quests around aren't so difficult, you can done them all solo. If happens something difficult, if you really are a friend to them, you let them overcome solo that difficulty, to let them learn their class. Or else we end up with more tanks that doesn't know what aggro is, or healers that doesn't heal, or dps that does not know what a rotation is. There already are enough of them![]()
XI has mentor system called AMAN (Adventurer's Mutual Aid Network). It didn't really worked though. I started XI @ November 2012 and didn't experience the benefit from this. Turned out just fine till I have to retire when ARR starts.
You guys do know.... some players on this game just walk by one another in the field? >.>; New players come on every day and some players are just busy running to wherever they gotta get to... or Q'ing for their next dungeon in that dungeon waiting room. Some players even spam new players or any player without an FC with invites (Not everyone does this but this happens on a few servers.) without even so much a Hi...
This is a MMORPG, whats wrong with wanting a system like this that can allow people to be around their friends for early levels of the game or outside of a dungeon waiting room Q without sucking the monster exp they could get from kills? There's a few things on this game that's probably never used too much as it is... I don't see how much harm a system like this could actually be... (Target back button, Target forward button, Auto Attack button, Jump button < All of these are inside the action list as actual buttons to press to perform the commands. Things like Phoenix Down(?) You cannot use Phoenix Down in battle and I think... you may have to be in party but I'm not sure because I've never even found a reason to use mines.)
Keep in mind I'm not saying SE MUST do this or follow my every desires or I'll QQragequit... I'm just suggesting something I thought was neat and if they do decide "Hey, maybe this would be neat so lets put it in..." whats the harm if someone doesn't decide to use it? O-o
I mean I don't think anyone even uses Inns too much anymore aside if they wanna actually see the cute animation or made a habit out of it... there's quite a few things that sometimes aren't used now anyways. (I forgot there's the hairstyle guy but I mean the Inn bed and such!) >;o

Inns are the only place with armory. They still useful for anyone without a personal room (if and when when armory can be put into your room).
There's only so much you can actually put in the Armoire... most things goes into retainers. >.>;
Edit: Also... in a response... Trash field mobs =/= dungeon mobs (Me wanting to play with friends outside of dungeons has almost no effect on their role learning considering most normal field mobs are a joke on here.) and I never said I wanted to level my friends fast, I just want to be able to actually play the game with them. Not help supply them with gear and say oh hey here you go... or just go into a 10~15 min dungeon then say GL or Grats and disband afterwards.

I really hope they gonna implement that system from XI soon in here. Got some friends that are not all 50 yet and would love to help them more then sitting next to them with a healing class and toss them an heal here and there. That´s no fun SE.
I think the idea has merit but after having helped my wife level up being by her side as much as possible, I'm not terribly sure this would really be a huge benefit to those leveling. New players are going to have to play through the main story line to level and unlock content. Much of the EXP from the main story line comes from completing quests and that is not diminished by being grouped. Most of the content either requires you to be solo (Duties) or gives such a small EXP that the drain in negligible. Beyond that, the rest of what a new player would encounter is either Dungeons or FATEs. Both of these already scale so the issue with loss of EXP is not an issue there.
Again, I'm not saying it is a bad idea but I would like to know specifically what areas you feel are taking a major EXP hit due to the lack of a mentor system.
