3-4 second lag spike whenever our 2nd computer is woken or put inti sleep mode.

    Hi all,

Whenever our 2nd computer is woken up from sleep, or put into sleep mode, it causes a 3-4 second lag spike on my computer when playing ARR.

Anyone know why the 2nd computer is affecting ARR on the 1st? or how to stop this?

    Thanks for looking.

What kind of router are you using?
Try disabling remote start in the bios and assigning the computers their own static IPs for the local network.

It all depends on you bios model, this link should get you started.

Netgear router is very vague they have made several iterations would actually need the model to assist further from that front.

If that unit is covered under your ISP agreement it may be time to start pestering them for a replacement. It hit end of life around 2009 and is known to have issues supporting gaming platform devices.

Any router you would recommend please?

Been having some issues loading ebay images recently, so could well be the router dying on me.

Any routers that help will reduce "ping"?

I don't have any trouble dodging, but I need to be ready to move before I see an attack, if I react as soon as I see an attack it's too late lol.

Personally I use one of this.

Your needs might vary though as the unit you posted is a modem router combo. If you are using it as a modem you will need your ISP involved. If not you should probably contact them anyway as your actual modem will probably similar age to the router (if they are separate).
