(PS4) Cannot log in; error 2002

So I upgraded to the PS4 version of the game today and renewed my subscription by 30 days. After downloading the game and all the updates, I log on and keep getting the following error when I choose "Start":

"The lobby server connection has encountered an error: 2002"

This is bull. I didn't pay 13 bucks to not be able to play the game. How do I resolve this error?

I am also now apparently having this problem too. I am playing on a PC though. I was playing earlier, stepped away from my PC for a while, while logged in, came back and was kicked out of the game with an error. Now whenever I log in I can't go beyond the title screen as it attempts to join the lobby server, instead I get Error 2002: "The lobby server connection has encountered an error."

I even gave it a few minutes, thinking maybe it was just some connection error on my side that might be the problem, as sometimes when I get a 90k I can't log right back in and need to give it a few minutes to actually kick my character out of the server.

But that's not what this is, it's like a wall is blocking me somehow. I would really like to play the game I'm paying for.

I am on the PS4 as well and haven't had an issue like this until I downloaded the most recent patch. I had to take a months break from the game for real life issues and I re subbed and have not been able to log in. Sometimes after about an hour I can break in but it's not for long before I get disconnected.

This post and the top ost are exactly what happened to me. so i feel your pain. upgraded to ps4, bought a 6 month sub and havent been able to play at all. and it was working fine for about a month till patch 2.3 then it all went to shit after that.

Still no official word from square just people offering ideas that i have no idea what they are talking about. It makes me mad because it's the principle of the matter. i shoudlnt have to go through all these hoops and loops to play a game that should be working on my end no matter wireless or wired. i shoudnt have to do router traces or whatever the hell it's called. i shouldnt have to call and track down my isp for information when they tell me everthing is green on my end. i shouldn't have to talk to square demanding my 6 month sub refund.

Bad business practice and once my sub runs out in 34 days i'll probably never come back.

The thing was the game worked fine till 2.3 and it's been almost 3 weeks now since the patch? Shouldn't they have a fix by now?

This 2002 problem has been going on for at least 9-10 + months. There is no fix because they don't care about the minority that can't connect. if it was a larger quantity then it'd take priority. But they are fully aware and have no plans of fix it. at least that's what i gather from it all.

Is anyone else having trouble with the PSN severs down? I can't log on to my PS4 :/

I always play my PS4 on ethernet connection, and I am getting the error. Well, I was, but today it's working fine and I don't know how that happened. Huh...
