Some days you just can't get those fates to co-operate. The grind for Atmas proves that too well.

Yeah, if I'm having a real issue, I'll go and do something else. I usually grind out book content like fates and the enemy list while queuing for the dungeons I need. Gotta keep twitching, right?

The problem that people have with this is that it's a system that encourages you to wait around doing almost nothing in order to get something you want, rather than keeping you engaged for a long period of time. It wasn't realistic on my server to do other FATEs while waiting for book FATEs to spawn, because the FATE you wanted would be finished by the time you made it back. A decent amount of my Scholar Animus was done alt tabbed playing Minecraft or Hearthstone on a second monitor, and that's not something that's necessarily positive.

Still, I think Taste of Fear might be the one FATE that was overlooked in their little balance pass a bit ago. Even Taken felt like it spawned faster than Taste of Fear.

Lol. If coil reset was random like FATE spawns, you might have something resembling a point.

I say they should offer a choice between a netflix or hulu subscription with the monthly fee for this game. Waiting for a fate might not be so bad if you the wacky antics of House to help pass the time.

I believe it was really intended this way. Had to also wait 3 hours for a FATE once, gladly only once. Apparently it was supposed to be fixed, iirc some patch notes but that it seems never happened...

If you're sitting and waiting, you're doing it wrong.

Get out there and complete other fates in the same zone.

Really bad idea, especially in zones like Coerthas and, in my case, East Shroud, FATE boss' HP vary based on the amount of participants last time, such a boss can die in half a minute, I'm had that happen to me, I was right there when it appeared, could only get silver and had to wait for it to appear again...

You don't have to actively watch your Coil lockout while tied up ingame for hours at a time to do it. You do for a FATE.

People whining about Coil just want to be geared out in a week so they can whine they have nothing left to do...

Couldn't possibly be wanting to do stuff with the entire FC instead of having to exclude people or feel like you're punishing people because something came up and they weren't able to make it.

Re: FATEs, the ones I have done lately have generally felt like they didn't take too long. I would really prefer them to be super frequent though as waiting around for them to spawn is the worst. Coerthas is easily the worst place as people have been saying. It's very large and trying to help cycle other FATEs usually ends up with you missing the one you need.

I'm not getting this issue. 2 weeks ago I did all my books in 9 days, so 1 book per day. The maximum it took to complete the fates was 4 hours on my first day, because I helped someone with a Trial inbetweeen and saw the fate end when coming back. Overall I've made the following observations:
- Fates from books generally spawn once per hour, ca 50% of the time around the full hour or half past.
- Fates in one book tend to spawn very close together, almost 5 minutes from each other. So it can happen that when you do the fate you need in one region, another needed has spawned 5 minutes before in another region OR will spawn any moment, so you better hurry.
Overall I have managed to get all 3 in less than 1 hour on one day because of this close together thing. I also could afford to go off do other stuff like the kills (which took me always much longer than fates), or just sit back and read a book because I could predict when it would likely spawn rather well.

Lol this fate..

Day 1 I had to wait for 5 hours straight, I still remember how heavy my head felt and how my back was in pain.
Day 2 I wait 1.5 hours, went to get a sandwich.. I arrived in room and fate was just spawning.. Win!

I don't run around doing fates in zone because I learned the hard way that people are just not gonna wait. I waited for hours on Taken to pop, then decided to do fates till it pops, the moment it popped it was zerged. I wrote in shout to please wait, and someone replied saying that they are gonna kill it anyway, and they did just that. It was gone in less than a minute.
