Sometimes they have to give bad news about ideas not being implemented. IMO it's better to hear any news than no news on a subject. Can't have everything in the world you want implemented in an mmo.

That's an example of cosmetic issue that doesn't have priority. Besides, it might be hard to do. I know nothing of these things~
This. At least they reply, better then some devs.

That is the perfect nice way of talking about how bad a lot of the ideas posted here are. Many player ideas are not well thought out as to how it will affect the balance of the game as well as the return on investment for adding many of these proposed changes may not always be viable. They are running a business and while there may be some good ideas out there they have their own plans as well that they are working to implement.
But we do get those kinds of responses sometimes. We also sometimes get a "That's a good idea, but we might not be able to implement it. We'll see what we can do," responses. It would be nice to see some "Dev team says, sure, why not?" or "Not going that route, but we'll figure something else out to make X less terrible." sort of responses.
Especially considering the particular subjects most of these topics are surrounding.
Not the CMs fault, I know; the dev team is the roadblock.
So much negative filtering in this community...
Indeed. before I made my class/job suggestion thread, I actually took time to look at other classes, etc. and other MMORPG experience before I decided to make the class suggestions I did. Actually implementing them though is a task in itself:Many player ideas are not well thought out as to how it will affect the balance of the game as well as the return on investment for adding many of these proposed changes may not always be viable. They are running a business and while there may be some good ideas out there they have their own plans as well that they are working to implement.

The Magic tank (aka Geomancer) that I suggested is explicitly used in Perfect World International under the title "Psychic." It uses self-shield buffs that reflect back damage at the attacker while reducing incoming damage or slowing attackers if you are hit, etc. Although it doesn't use heavy armor in PWI, it may be difficult for FFXIV Devs to implement a cloth-based tank that has no summons.
I'm really glad they give us replies saying this. It's giving the request closure and sometimes they add that if request is high, they will reconsider. Sometimes they have done just that and reconsidered, even giving us notice that they changed their mind.
A reply is a reply and I'm glad they give them to us.
Right, cause developer ideas like the Hunt were so well thought out and didnt affect game balance one bit......Many player ideas are not well thought out as to how it will affect the balance of the game as well as the return on investment for adding many of these proposed changes may not always be viable. They are running a business and while there may be some good ideas out there they have their own plans as well that they are working to implement.
At the rate SE is going, a lot of player ideas are better thought out and make far more sense imho.
The hunts were a player idea they took and implemented. Just saying.
Yes, most player suggestions are "gimme gimme gimme all of the things!"
They want no lockouts, no caps, no waits, no "work for the goal", no RNG...
Often the requests are contradictory. Like "running the same dungeon for tomestomes is SOOO boring, giev (sic) us more options!", & "OMGerz, the hunt system is OP on the rewards! SOOO unbalanced, remove now or I'll unsub".
