Join a Friend / FC Mate's Instance?

Hey folks!

So this is a common issue for me, as someone who likes to help others out. There are times when friends of mine are in instances where the main tank suddenly up and quits a dungeon and they ask me if I could help them out.

I should mention that I have absolutely no problems helping them out. That's a non-issue. The problem lies in the fact that, in order to join a friend's or an FC mate's instance, I have to do it through Duty Finder and there is no guarantee that I will be able to join them, instead either joining another party that already has members leaving in droves, or joining a brand new queue for that instance, causing me to not be able to help my friend or FC mate clear the content that they need help with.

Will there be some possibility of allowing us to join a friend / FC mate's instance, maybe via the Player Finder / Friend's List / Free Company Member List / Linkshell Member List if there are slots available in that person's group? Or perhaps make it so someone in instanced content can invite players outside the instance to a party, who can then join the content direct via duty finder?

This can be highly abused so it's something I doubt will ever be implemented. Hell, people try to do this now without having this feature on, it would only get worse.

I can see a group of FCmates kicking a PuG at the last boss or something in order to get their FCmate in. It'd be just another excuse to abuse vote kick.

I have near 100% of hitting my FC or LS party in need of help by joining in progress.

As mentioned before, this may lead to abuse as FC members vote kick another member to get their own people in.

Just kinda unfortunate that there is the constant fear of an abuse of the system that causes me to not be able to help people with a high enough success rate. There has to be some way this can be implemented without a chance for abuse.

I have had zero luck getting into a group where my friends need help, which is the only reason I'm even posting this. Not one time have I queued in with Duty Finder (with the "Join Party In Progress" box checked, FYI) and gotten into the group.

Ugh. I love your idea because I've needed it too to help FC mates who are abandoned mid-dungeon, but it does appear to be all too easy to take advantage of (also, commendation farming). Best thing really, sad to say, is to have them leave and y'all can restart as a group. :/

Yeah, i’m also someone who wants to help out others when they are in a bind, especially Friends and fellow FC/LS Members.

It would be perfect if we could have another option in the Context Menu (when you click on the name of your Friend’s Character in the Friends List or FC / LS members list) where you could Join their Duty in Progress or even their queue (f.i. for Syrcus Tower or the Low Level Dungeons).

It is true that it could be used to abuse the Commendation system, but people are doing that already by queueing up for a duty and leave if they didn’t join the same queue as their friends/FC.

If SE wants to prevent that, then they can disable the player from the Commendation list, like they did with players who have formed a party before queuing up for a Duty. I would also disable the “Join Duty In Progress” option for Trails and content which locked behind progression flags, like the current Coil of Bahamut Tiers.

The simple and sad truth is, it isn't fear of, it is fact. If a system available to a large group can be abused it will be abused by someone. Oddly enough when studied the most common answer as to why someone abuses a system is paraphrasing "if i don't someone else will".
