Bah, as of yesterday, seems I saved myself the whole process, and a divorce right after.

Bring them 5000 Soldiery for each piece of the gear and a lot of rare crafted items to start the quest !
Please look forward to it !

I don't mind it costing a bit or requiring tomes or crafting efforts.
I'm also hoping partners will be able to co-own a personal house or that we'll at least be able to set our partner specifically as having full access in the housing menu, uniquely from other groups like friends, FC or LS mates.
I can see that this is going to have a HUGE cost in gil. I mean if they make glamour items as expensive as they do, just wait til you see this system :s
I dont think they'll have the GM system like they did in XI, or even need an approved time necessarily. Might just be book your place in an open time slot. It has it's good and it's bad I suppose. Some comparisons to other marriage systems, in Mabinogi (I think, I might be thinking of another game) you booked an area for an hour and were given a stack of invitations to hand out to the people who wanted to come. Those people then had to trade their invite to the door to get in. XI had GMs presiding over the weddings, while I never saw one going on I heard that if people who were uninvited wandered over and got in the way they could get thrown in jail.
On the other hand you have games like Ragnarok Online. You had to take turns getting married since only one could happen at a time, but it was open to anyone and also broadcast a server wide message when a wedding was happening. I remember years ago marrying a friend and as soon as the message went up the church was flooded with people who ran in, started surrounding me doing obsene motions, saying stuff like 'I f***ed your wife last night!' and just in general trolling and carrying on. We were only marrying because we were duo buddies and wanted the marriage skills so it wasnt a huge deal to me, but considering I want to marry my irl husband in eorzea, I'd choose private booked venues over just show up ceremonies any day.
This. I want to set permissions so my spouse can "live" in the place. I understand if spouses can't "co-own" because GMs don't want to play divorce court, but it's gonna be super lame if my spouse can't at least rearrange the furniture or has to bug me each time he gets something to add. :vI don't mind it costing a bit or requiring tomes or crafting efforts.

Also, teleporting. If we get personal aetherytes, who else can use it?
Looks like FF14arrr just got a little less casual.
(`_´)ゞ my body and cures afe ready.
What I would like to see is a separate quest chain that will allow us to become officiates for the ceremonies. That would keep GMs and Square Enix employees from getting involved and it could make the ceremonies more meaningful to us to have a close friend officiate.
