The idea of levelling them alltogether does make sense for the reasons you pointed out but you will clearly be in your personal "need moar shards" hell. If you are not rich, I would look at gathering as much shards as possible before even starting with the crafters. Oh and there are never "enough" shards. Never, ever.

Can you expand on the "need more shards" hell issue? Can you just go out and gather them when you run low?

You can but who wants to spend so many hours during the week to gather them all? I have 2 retainers I only use for shards. The latest patch brought some ease because they doubled the amount of shards they can bring you back. But when you start levelling all crafters at the same time, you need hundreds of shards of each sort. Then we don't talk about "go out and gather a few" but we talk about "spend your entire evening with botting eeh shards farming".

A few weeks ago, I went and upgraded all my DOH to 3 star recipies by getting the iLevel 70 tools. To make all the necessary items, I needed several thousand shards, Crystals not counted in. Such amounts are not farmed too easily I can tell you lol. If you level all DOH at once and not only do leves but actually craft everything that is in your book, you are in a similiar situation. Hence the recommendation to gather a lot of them in advance if you plan to level them all up simultaneously. Not saying it is not doable but don't underestimate the amount of shards you will need.

Ah now I see the difference. I only did everything in the book to get to 15 in my DOH classes. After that I've leveled them just using the leves, so there are a lot of things I'm not making.

My experience is if you are not in a hurry, your life is nicer. The best way to level are the levequests, but if you use them intensively you run out of them and have to forget about crafting for some days and come back. It might be leveling all crafts at the same time is better and gathering at the same time too. But if you level one at a good level you start to earn money, and money helps you to buy the items for the recipes, or the already made items for the leves of the other crafts. Your play time also is worth it, so buying made things may be an option. Sometimes you save money spending time crafting or gathering things, but that same time crafting valuable things that sell well may be better, and with that money you buy the items you need for the leves of the other crafts.

Also, if you aren't in a hurry, make sure you do the GC supply missions every day possible. its like having a single free leve for every profession, multiple if its a starred item.

I have been doing all of them for about 2 weeks, and I have 1-15 almost every profession I don't use regularly, just from buying the items from a town npc. its not too expensive, and you get sweet, sweet GC seals in return, which can be worth as much or more than the money you put in.

This man speaks the truth. And sometimes, if you're lucky and it's a common item, you can find it HQ on the MB for cheap.

Another thing I can't overstate the usefulness of is the Ehcatl Nine dailies. They provide quests that give EXP for DoH classes, and include crafting. If you have a 50 DoH and want to level another, you can do the quest as your 50 and turn it in with the class you want EXP for. The EXP scales to the level of the class you turn it in with, so it's extremely useful. Also helps you work towards those sweet, sweet Oaknots.

Oaknots are a godsend. While I can't vouch for how nice the Ixali quests are for leveling a DoH (mine were all already 50 when the quests were added), being able to purchase two-star (and three-star!) recipe ingredients using Oaknots saves a lot of money and GC points. Of course, that's all in the far future if you're still in the process of leveling, but it never hurts to plan ahead!

162 Oaknots is enough to purchase all of the two-star ingredients you need to craft the items you need to obtain the Master Recipe book for all eight DoH classes (presuming that you succeed in HQing every time). You get six Oaknots per day if you spend all of your Beast Tribe allowances on the Ixai quests that give Oaknots, which boils down to 27 days.

    .
I been trying to figure out what the star means. I usually turn in all HQ items, but I don't notice any difference in exp between the star and non-star turn ins. Unless there is and I just don't notice it...? Can anyone clarify this?
