So with the next patch will the weekly cap be removed from soldiery and a new tome added that we have to go after or will that not happen till 2.5? Friend asked me and I cant remember how it worked

yep, in 2.4 myth tome will be gone and new type of tome will be introduce. also goin by the 2.1-2.2 trend, in 2.4 iLV will be rise to 130 (135 weapon from last boss Coil)
So...if myth tomes are going to be gone, Soldiery will become the new currency for atma books?
does anybody have actual proof? because until i see something that is from the game or the dev team, im not concernbed with any change of currency, as i dont see it as true. you can provide all the proof behind why you think it will happen, doesnt mean it will.
Please keep in mind anything we say is pure speculation unless proved otherwise. but as 2.4 is not here and there is no info yet released by Square-Enix, proving would be hard.

*like the above posters stated, this is pure speculation*
I just have a hard time believing this part. True enough, Philosophy tomes were removed from the game in 2.2, but I just don't see them removing Mythology tomes with 2.4. It hasn't been stated that they will (if it has forgive me, I haven't seen it), and Mythology tomes have the iconic job-related AF and relic enhancement tied to them. In short, Mythology tomes serve a much larger purpose in FFXIV then Philosophy tomes ever did. I seriously doubt Myth AF gear is going to start dropping in dungeons like the Darklight does now, and I know you can get the gear with Allied Seals but I don't envision SE keeping that method as the only way to get them.
If they remove Myth tomes, then you would have two types of gear attainable via Soldiery tomes? 9 more crafting mats via GC? Wouldn't make sense for the crafting mats to be bought with soldiery, because *assuming we are following the same path* there will be new crafting mats attainable via Soldiery for new crafting recipes. Radz-at-han Oil having its currency changed again, and changing the most iconic process of original relic enhancement (Thavnairian Mist x3) to a different tome? Some of us had to dedicate 3 weeks just for that first i90 weapon alone. Animus books/Sphere scroll/Alexandrite maps now bought with Soldiery?
I could be wrong, but it doesn't make much sense to me for them to get rid of Myth altogether.
They'll probably remove myth, just because I don't think they want us to have to juggle 3 different types of tomes, and with a new tome the relative value of soldiery and myth if they kept it would be lowered, meaning they'd have to ramp up myth acquisition even more! As was stated, ilvl 90 gear was already moved over to Allied seals and is faster to obtain that way (usually). Other odds and ends can be transferred to soldiery/ allied seals/ GC seals/ drops/ other venues. Personally I hope they put myth mats in the GC and move the current GC crafting mats into gathering.
