There are multiple reasons to NEED loot. Gearing your job, desynthesis and company credits. I will never feel ashamed to roll need because I always actually do need it.

I won't ever tell someone how to roll. I will however choose to not play with someone who will use need to something like desynth or seals. You hit need on that belt to turn in for seals, then you are being utterly selfish. Why? Because it's no longer for your class/role at that point. EVERYONE there can turn it in for seals the same. Not just you. Everyone worked for the item, but you feel like jacking them out of the chance for it as well.

You can use the line that they can need on their type of item in return all you want, still doesn't change anything. RNG likes to play with some people that way. Fairest thing is to greed if you're using for one of those two things.

Again, won't tell you to play that way, but I will ditch a group with someone who does that.
