Someone please explain how to SP solo.

I was reading this thread for help as well. What I've been doing is straight up grind when I can log in but that's incredibly boring. Thanks for the very small few of you who've actually posted anything useful. The rest of you GTF out of people's faces.

if you got a decent spec pc or 2 pc in your house get another account and learn to dual box, it it g=free still so make the most of it, all a lot of ppl do on these forums is stroke there epeens or piss and moan at other or the game, this is the internet thats how it is. seems now you do leves fast and low lvl get them done and out of the way, tbh i only chose the leves which give me marks and if poss try save them up for a day or 2 so its actually worth going to that camp, i feel sometimes its not worth the anima. grid solo on mobs midlessly or gather up 1 or a small party of maybe friends/random shouts for a sp grind, spamm the R25 dungon kill everthing in there.

as for camps and what where to go this info is hard to come by.. some people dont want to gve it up because they dont want to share and have every tom dick and harry infiltrate "Their" camp you can try search YG for mobs 5 or so above your lvl and look at where/how viable they are and how long u can spend there if its actually worth going ie in cortheas etc

I'm a rank 30 lnc, doing rank 30 leves on 3-star difficulty. They take about 15ish min each, i get about 100sp per kill (which seems less than normal easy mobs) and i get 1000ish sp reward at the end. And I'm supposed to get like over 1million sp this way?

What am I doing wrong?

#1 If you review the last producer letter http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...530#post259530 then you will notice that he makes specific mention that there is some concern about the rank 20-30 leves, and that they are reviewing it. But honestly, I'm sure you knew that, the tone of this post (and all of your post recently) are more to complain then inquire.

umm this game was advertised as a solo MMO, up to now its been fine. FFXI was fine. Almost every MMO is fine. 1.18 just messed things up and im sure in like 2 weeks someone will find some legit exploit like a certain mob or something that you can grind on for good sp like in every other patch so far.

#2 Couldn't help but laugh at this... I mean really? What exactly is a "legit" exploit? Wouldn't it be hard for ANY exploit to be considered "Legit"?

You know, I see your guides, and what you used to post, but it really seems lately that you are just going off half cocked, contradicting yourself, just not really thinking your posts through as much as you have. Possibly a little too emotionally invested in the latest changes.

Take a breather... The game isn't in it's end state, it's just begining the changes (again, mentioned in the last producer letter). You have mentioned in your other posts that you point these things out so they will be fixed... well mission accomplished. They have acknowlaged that it needs looked at. Step back and see what they do, otherwise you are just posting to troll.

Soloing is painfully slow right now. I haven't had a chance to party yet so I can't compare, but I will say your numbers seem a little low. I was doing R30 leves on my 28CON last night at Humblehearth (Gridania) and with GF I was getting ~200 per mob + 1.8-2.5k at the end. I did them on 3 star and they took 10-15 minutes depending on whether or not, and how frequently I would die. Did you use GF? If so, and you're not exaggerating your numbers then perhaps try a different camp. Maybe the leves you were doing were bugged or something.

I'm at the pace of ranking up once per day, I do a mixture of things that Pulseczar mentioned.... The Big thing is grouping up to do them! To name a few... Behiests r30 5 stars with two other people give a moderate amount of sp, then I quest alot, visiting the different settlements and check for quests... Main cities usually have a good amount of quests these days....

It's a bit different and unclear how you could level... but it's much better then mindlessly doing leves

They are working on the 20-30 levequest rewards for a pre 1.19 patch I believe.

I assume this is for 1.18a or 1.18b. But it could be as late as 1.19.

It's kind of pointless to ask how to accomplish something that is broken.

Im trying really hard but I cant seem to remember what I was killing at 30... I KNOW i used to duo eyes from 25 to 30 in nanawa mines but for the life of me I cant remember what I did from 30+... maybe efts with a friend in gridania???

Respect is a two-way street. I clearly stated alternatives to SP besides leves and was shot down for it. I may have not been specific, but I'm not going through and list the <pos> of every single location.

The OP knows exactly what they are up to. It's pretty evident if you watch their posting pattern.

I'm not sure if this still applies post 1.18, but I thought you could only really solo successfully to level 23 without the help of people and that they were probably going to increase this to 30, but the sp becomes increasingly difficult to get, not impossible but hard without people.

to those who metioned that my numbers were a bit low, i mentioned earlier i think that no, i was -not- using GF so thats probably why. I save that for my botanist leves. But thanks for letting me know how much sp you get with it ^^ sounds like it doubles your sp.

as for "legit exploits" i'm referring to failing leves (which really was kind of an exploit but devs said it was ok to do) and prior to that multi-shot on coblyns which essentially was levelling to rank 50 by killing everything in 1 or 2 shots (again kind of an exploit since you arent really fighting, just hitting a button and getting sp)

And thank you to the many people who helped. I found a lot of the info -really- helpful and I'm glad to see that there are still people in the community who will help instead of being cynical and trying to turn everything into an argument over the state of the game.
