My guild was stolen!!!!

Username: xXDanteCrossXx Server: Faierie my name is Death Scythe. I recently ended up homeless and in a situation where I could not possibly log onto the game while finding a home and new job. The new program in the game which switches the guild leader to someone else after 35 days took effect. When I got back onto the game after losing my home another player had become guild master. Upon explaining my situation and the details that went with it to him he very rudely refused to return ownership of my guild to me. I sent a complaint to Square Enix and they sent a Game Master to speak with me. Upon speaking with him/her I was informed that Square Enix does not allow Game Masters to handle these situations. So now I have wasted and lost 8 months of my life and 275,000 gil and am EXTREMELY unhappy with Square Enix. I was informed by the Game Master that posting here would be the best bet to resolve this issue and possible help Square Enix fix problems like this for people.

Unfotunately there is nothing that you or they can do. When you agree to being a FC leader you also agree that for ANY REASON your forfeit leadership after 35 days. I would remove the persons name from this post as that is actually a breach of TOS. I do wish there was better news for you mate after what you had to go through. Just as it is in life, and MMO is not always fair. I do hope you can understand and hopefully you can find or make a better FC for yourself.

This is why your 2nd in command needs to be someone you trust wholeheartedly.

Also why a website/facebook/twitter for your FC is important. I'm willing to bet they had no idea why you were MIA. If the new leader did know, then he's an even bigger douchebag!

He knew and had agreed beforehand. He had been one of the people who had helped me found it and up until this point had been a decent person for the past year I know ATM nothing can be done, but I know for a fact Square Enix could do something if they wanted they control the servers and can do as they please. I am however only posting on here so they know of the problem and that such a problem actually exists so they can give Game Masters the ability of set in motion some type of system for these types of situations, because in my absence he has basically killed my FC. I just really didn't want to have to lose it I liked it and I've had it for sometime since after I made the mistake of giving over power in my last FC temporarily because I knew I wouldn't be on for awhile almost a year ago.

Possibly it was NOT true.
The 35days thing was added at patch 2.2 (25March) , and OP said he lost 8months,
so when OP starting his FC, there was no the 35days thing.

Yeah I really don't like the ownership passing after certain days since I unsubscribe for periods of time, but SE wants money.

Luckily my FC with my house was moved to someone one of my friends knew and I got it back. My second FC however, I don't know the owner and their trying to sell it ;-;

Nope, it is a good change.

If the FC leader is going to go MIA or gone for good, it is better to pass down the leadership. Did you know there are more people being affected because their FC leader had gone missing, and collectively they cannot function properly because they cannot set ranks, they cannot use the FC stash to buy the house they want, etc etc?

It is god send that someone could take charge eventually instead of leaving everything down the drain (ie everyone leave and restart a FC, re-build FC rank and at the same time, losing everything in the FC chest).

I've only seen that happen once but they still had someone that could buy actions so they were fine. they just started their own FC after a few months.
But if theirs a lot of people in your FC there's gonna be someone with enough access to keep the FC functioning. With this economy its hard to keep paying SE's monthly fee's and you don't want to lose something you created to other people.

It's sad that you lost control of your FC, but FCs can't be left stranded with an absent leader. So yeah, leadership automatically passing to someone else brings a lot more good to the game than bad.
